Abby 09-493

Profile

Meet Abby! A PB golden who's between 6 and 7 yrs old. She was surrendered to RAGOM because her owner died in March and the family didn't have time for her any more. It was hard for them to let her go but I assured them she would go to a caring Fur-ever home that would provide her with all the love she needs. Don't let her gray face fool you. Like I said she's 7 at the oldest. She will be going to the vet this week to get shots and spayed. In the mean time I will try and track down her old vet records.

Abby loves to hunt bunnies...like any retriever would, she's not gun shy, walks great on a leash (no pulling at all) knows sit and heal, no anxieties, sleeps great in a crate, rides nice in the car, needs a fenced in yard, no guarding of food or toys. She's just a all around golden retriever that needs all the typical loving and cuddling. Abby also has a beautiful coat. She's a lighter golden color around 50 to 55 lbs. Abby LOVES to lay by the family and chew on a tasty bone. She would do fine with a family that has a dog or no dogs. So let placement know if you want PERFECTION! She's available and ready for a loving family for Christmas.

Abby has been with us less than a week and she is the most loving dog we have ever had in our home. She is an absolute sweetheart. And she wants to be near you; leaning, lying at your feet or sitting on your feet while leaning on your legs. She wants to be near her people. She will go into a crate but she's reluctant about it ... because that means that she can't be near her people.

Her favorite thing to do is sit near the window and watch squirrels -- that is when she is not sitting on someone's feet. She keeps a close watch on the yard and really wants to chase any squirrel that scampers past. We don't have a fenced yard so she is only able to go out while on leash. Her desire to freely chase squirrels is a frustration while she stays with us.

Abby went in to be spayed today and everyone there thought she was just the sweetest dog. They'd be right. She did just fine and tonight we're keeping her a little quiet. That's not too hard to do; if we sit down and are quite she lays on our feet and is quiet, too.

Abby met a very nice couple last weekend; they brought treats and a brand new toy for their "meet and greet". We think they are the perfect match for Abby, so if all goes well she will have a forever home before Christmas.

Abby would also like to thank Jeff and Kathy M. for the Christmas present.
