Ace 10-060

Profile

Ace is 4 weeks old and has 3 brothers and 1 sister. His momma is Molly 10-058. They arrived from Missouri on Saturday and were welcomed to our crazy pack of dogs and people! Winston, resident dog, is loving the pups. Buster 09-298, my other foster, is not quite sure what to make of them.

They arrived very healthy and shall we say, chubby! They range in weight from 8-9 lbs, which is quite large for 4 weeks. They’re already eating soft puppy food and still enjoy nursing from momma. I think she will start weaning them in the next couple weeks or so. The pups will receive their first vaccinations in 3 weeks and then the following week (end of March) they will be spayed or neutered.

Did I say how adorable they are?? Momma appears to be all Golden. Dad is said to be part black lab and coonhound mix. What a combination! They have received many visitors and have enjoyed the attention. Thank you everyone who has donated newspaper, paper towels and blankets to them. We sure go through a lot of paper products!

More info to follow later this week. They will not be able to go to their forever homes until after their spay/neuters, which would make them available to “go home” the first week in April.

WOW, Am I adorable or what??? Foster Mom can't believe I'm still hanging around with no forever family yet. This week I got to play with the big dogs, hang with foster dad who was home all week and go for several walks with my humans. I know my name, can howl when police car sirens are heard, run like mad all over the yard and pee and poopy outside. I am a great puppy. I am working on sitting for my food and treats although I get very excited when I hear FM get the dog food out.

I want to be adopted by a family who will interact with me, only leave me alone for a few hours a day and and expose me to many sights and sounds. After all, I'm a puppy and I want to socialize. I would love a fenced in yard but I guess I might do okay with someone taking me out on leash to go potty. But, I will want a couple good long walks every day then and maybe a puppy play date or two a week. Since I'm learning my manners I guess you might want to take me to school for that! That's what my FM says.....

I love my human siblings and will watch every move they make. I am tender and sweet and I sure love it when they rub my belly and talk to me. Won't someone special come see me soon? I am not that far away and my FM says that distance isn't a big deal if someone really loves me. ----Ace.

Wow, these pups are getting big! In just a few weeks, they have grown by leaps and bounds. And, they sure are active! Typical pups---lots of playing, sleeping and pooping, not necessarily in that order. They have received many visitors and love being held and played with. They've also enjoyed their play sessions outside! They are a lot of fun to watch. And, interestingly enough, now that momma Molly is almost done nursing, she is playing more active with them.

Wouldn't you love some puppy kisses by Easter? They will be neutered next week and then available for adoption! Let your placement advisor know you'd like to meet them. I guarantee you'll fall in love with them!

Ace is now 6 weeks old and he had his first bath! He gives the best puppy hugs and likes to play with all the toys. He enjoys chasing his brothers and sister around. Ace is trying to learn to jump onto the couch but isn’t quite big enough to make it yet. The litter is currently weaning off Molly, so Ace has been spending the last few nights without momma and has been doing great! He is ready to meet his forever family!
