Adora came into RAGOM from Turkey via RAGOM's international rescue program. Adora is a healthy girl but has a cataract in her right eye and allergies. Adora has not yet been tested with children but it appears she would do well with older children. She can live with other dogs but should not live with cats. A physical fence is optional; however, Adora is an escape artist so a solid plan to keep her safe is needed. Adora is a sweet, mellow dog who likes nothing more than to be with her people and snuggle.

Not long before the pandemic hit, the loveliest little Golden Retriever joined our family.  Adora came to us from Turkey where she had been wandering in a woods. She’d had one eye removed due to blindness and many teeth pulled. Soon after we adopted her, we discovered she had a cancerous tumor and needed chemo treatments. RAGOM gratefully paid for these 5 chemo treatments at Blue Pearl in Eden Prairie.  She has been cancer-free since last summer.

Adora has the sweetest personality and loves everyone. Her favorite activity is to sit at the window by the front door and watch squirrels.

A few weeks ago, she barked a distinctive bark several times. I could not see anything strange outdoors due to dusk. A few moments later, she ran upstairs barking and stood in front of me with a very excited look to her. I followed her downstairs and there was a raccoon right outside the window. She went ballistic with barking to alert us to deer in the yard on three occasions.

Another one of her favorites is to watch the MN Orchestra on TV. She often is very alert during the wind sections. I have never had such an adorable dog, and I’ve had many. We think at some time she was with a family because she has impeccable manners.

Adora continued to adjust well and learned to play with toys and her foster family's resident dog. After recovering from eye surgery, Adora went to her forever home with the P family today! She cannot wait to bark at squirrels, snuggle on the couch, and go on walks with her new family.

This pint-sized sweetheart truly lives up to her name and is one of the most mellow Goldens we have ever met. She loves to be with people and our dog, snuggle on the couch, and go on walks. She politely greets everyone she meets and eagerly awaits scratches.

Adora was found abandoned in a forest in Turkey living with a few other dogs. It is very clear that she lived in a home and was trained prior to being abandoned. She arrived in the U.S. and to our house one week ago and was already potty trained. Adora immediately walked well with a gentle leader both alone and with our resident dog.

We are working on kennel training her. Currently, she is baby gated into a room with her kennel open, and she will eat and sleep in the kennel. However, she has not been destructive and likely could do well without being kenneled while her people are gone. She does bark when we leave and when we go to bed but eventually settles in.

She would likely enjoy a family that is home more often than not, as she loves to be around people. While we do have a fenced-in yard, she likes to go on walks to go to the bathroom. Her future home does not require a fence. However, she should not be left on a tie out alone or without a leash in a fenced yard, as she is a little escape artist.

Adora is currently being fostered with a resident dog and a cat. She has become increasingly interested in the cat, and we recommend not having her live with a cat in the future. However, she has done very well with our resident dog and is learning a lot from him. Adora has not met any children yet.

Adora does have a cataract involving her right eye and is currently on some steroid drops to treat inflammation. She will be seeing an ophthalmologist within the month to discuss options for managing this.

Adora cannot wait to meet you!
