Ally 09-030

Profile

Ally has a new foster home and we decided that since she is getting a fresh start at RAGOM, she gets a new webpage too! Ally needed to find another foster home where the cats wouldn’t be so offended that she was there. It had absolutely nothing to do with her!  It was the cats causing a fuss.

Ally is about a 10-month-old GR mix. No one really knows exactly what she is mixed with but she is definitely adorable! Ally came from Iowa about 1 month ago with her two sisters, Bugsy (09 028) and Starlite (09 029).

She is on the smaller side and while she may get a little bit bigger, she will never be a big girl (don’t we all wish we could say that?!)

Ally is spayed and UTD on her vaccinations and is now waiting for that perfect furever home!

She is still a little bit shy but it sure doesn’t take her long to warm up to people! She wants nothing more than to be by your side. She isn’t exactly a Velcro dog but if you’re looking for a long-term devoted dog, come say hi!

I don’t crate my dogs at night but do baby gate the doorway about 1 foot up so the cat (yes, I have a cat too) can get in and out and we can all get some peace at night. We’ll see how it works with Ally, but it’s been a great system in the past with cat-chasing fosters! My cat is very dog-saavy and doesn’t let a little pup boss him around. Although, I personally think he likes all the attention J

Her previous foster thinks she will do well having another dog in the house with her. I think this is a great idea however I would still love to talk to you if you don’t have a dog and we can discuss what she will need in lieu of that companionship. Sometimes really shy dogs do great being the center of attention. I always suggest that all adoptive families take their new dogs through obedience - this helps build up their confidence as well as helping them bond with you!

If you would like to meet or know more about Ally, please contact your placement advisor! She is waiting for YOU!

Happy New Year! Here are a couple pics of Allie at Christmas.

We adopted Allie (changed the spelling to match Kenzie, our other dog) on 4/17/2009.

Allie is a fun loving puppy that is considered one of the family!  When we first got her she was timid and scared.  Allie was so cautious about everything around her she didn’t even want to sleep.  Now she is well trained and comfortable being around us.  Allie still has a long way to go before she is fully comfortable around new people.  It will take patience but it sure has been a joy having her around.  The vet says she is very healthy and she enjoys going on walks with us.  Our other dog Kenzie is still getting used to not being the center of attention but the two are inseparable.

Ally continues to do so good at my home!  She has gotten our routine down and is so excited to start her day!  She loves playing with the resident dogs and I now amend my previous statement and believe having another dog in the house is very important.  She mimics the resident dogs on good behavior and she almost has "sit" down.  She's getting better, because we do NILIF (Nothing In Life Is Free) training here and she has to sit to get fed, pet or be let out.

She met foster-Grandpa today and while she was a little nervous, her curiosity got the best of her and she ended up giving him all kinds of loving!

I've been working with her on letting her know that loud noises are OK.  I've been banging doors, counters, pans all the while saying her name and petting her.  She is getting used to this and hasn't been so afraid.  She is now just incredibly excited because sometimes there is a treat too :-)

Ally is still a puppy and a little mouthy, so she will do better in a home with older kids (8+) so she doesn't get to be too much for the younger ones.

Ally is really such an incredible sweetheart!  She really wants her furever home so she can build her sense of security!  Please contact your placement advisor if you'd like to see her!
