Ally (K.D.) was born into RAGOM on 5/10/2007 to mom 07-243 Cheryl; she was part of a group rescue from Missouri in the Spring of 2007. Ally (K.D.) was one of seven puppies born. ( 07-331 Zoe (Dutchess), 07-332 Mia (Masie), 07-333 Ally (K.D.), 07-334 Abby, 07-335 Riley (Smokey), 07-336 T.J., 07-337 Buddy (Niko)
Ally (K.D.) was named K.D. by RAGOM and was renamed Ally when she was adopted in 2007. Ally was lucky to have been adopted into a loving family, but unfortunately her family dynamics have changed and Ally was returned to RAGOM again to be “re-homed.” This was a hard decision for the Surrendering Owner, but her and her children knew returning her to RAGOM was what was best for Ally. They knew Ally deserved a new family who would have more time to give her lots of love and attention. We want to thank her surrendering family for taking care of Ally and for shaping her into the friendly loving girl she is today. She is truly a sweet heart. “Ally-Gator” is doing great in her foster home and will make a great companion for her new family. I wanted to include a few of Ally’s puppy pictures, to show she has not lost her cuteness. J

We received Ally on last Thursday night and she came to us a little nervous. She showed us all of the toys she came with. Ally also came with a kennel, food dishes and food. We assembled her kennel right away since she seemed nervous and we wanted her to have a safe place if she needed it. Once the kennel was put together, she went in and dropped off her stuffed baby seal toy and came back out. She then came to both of us for some love and attention which we were more than willing to give her. She knows her name, so comes trotting with a wiggle butt to receive her hugs and kisses.
On Friday we took Ally to the vet and groomer. Ally has some Sebaceous Cysts on her head which she had scratched the largest of the cysts behind her left ear which has now become infected. The vet is going to surgically remove the cysts to prevent future infections. Sounds as though Ally may be prone to these cysts, so we will get some tips from the vet to learn how to care for her. If you are looking to sponsor a dog for the holidays Ally would be a good one! It is going to take a significant amount of money to remove the infected cyst (In big part to the shear amount of time the surgery will take.)
Ally went to the groomer after the vet appointment, the groomer said she was wonderful. Then said most dogs do not like the hair dryer, but Ally actually leaned into the dryer air. She just loves to be touched and petted and will take whatever attention she can. If your hand is near she will nudge it with her nose to make sure you know you should be petting her. J
Thanks for reading Ally’s update. She has been a great, well mannered, friendly, dog so far. We have been taking her on long and short car rides to get her used to it. To show her the car is a safe and fun place we have been taking her on rides to fun destinations like walks in the park. Good news! When we dropped Ally off for her surgery today, she has lost 1 ½ pounds. She is now weighing in at 79 pounds, only a few more to go. The vet is think she should be around 70 pounds.
