We would like to welcome Angus into the Ragom family and our house. Angus is a 4 Yr old Male PB Golden . He arrived on Sunday from SD with another dog Clyde from the Humane Society. I would like to thank Emily from transport for bringing him to us and also the HS for contacting Ragom. He made a grand entrance into the yard and met the humans and then met the resident female golden Timber with no issues. Wow, that was nice. He doesn't really seem to want to play yet but I am sure once he feels comfortable he will. He lived with another dog, a black lab named Missy; both were surrendered by their owner due to downsizing. I would like to say thank you for allowing us to find Angus a new forever home. He is a gem. He is one of the easiest fosters I have had so far and he's #12 . He is housetrained - no accidents so far. He loves to be petted and loves squeaky toys. So far he hasn't destroyed any so that's a good thing. He lived with children ages of 10 and up. Not sure about cats but we will try and cat test him too.
Angus had a vet appt on Monday and passed with flying colors. Very healthy & weight 71 lbs excellent for him. Red in color and a short coat .Yeah, not a lot of shedding from him.
He was already neutered when he came in and now is UTD on all shots. Fecal Negative Heartworm Negative. Yeah......
He was well taken care of. Thanks to the SO.
This is what we have learned so far about Angus:
- He's a great dog and a handsome one.
- Housetrained
- Likes all peoples
- Likes other dogs
- Good with Kids
- Likes to cuddle.
- Wants to jump up on the couch so I think he was a couch & bed dog.
- Likes to chase balls sometimes.
- Takes treats very gently.
- You can take anything away from him.
- Knows the sit and stay command & kennel up command.
- Gives puppy kisses
- Loves Car Rides
- Crate trained too.
- Likes Peanut butter bones.
Was trained on a invisible fence system. But I think I would prefer a physical fence for him as of right now. That may change as we get to know him better.
He is a alert barker. Lets you know when some one is at the door or by the fence which is just fine with me. I like to know that someone is coming to my home. That's what dogs do.
We went for our first 2 mile walk yesterday. He pulls some on a flat collar but once we got going he was pretty good. Very fast walker so maybe we will try jogging. No problems walking with dogs or people. He was just fine after the walk so maybe he needs to go for a 3 mile walk. We will try that this weekend. He's not real energetic, he likes to play but settles down in the house to a cuddlier. Likes to sit and watch TV and lay low. Wow, what a great dog. He's a keeper. Someone will be very lucky getting Angus.
Thanks for reading up on Angus. We will write more as we learn about this handsome golden boy. If you are interested in meeting this young handsome cuddle bug contact your placement advisor. He won't be around long. He's perfect as far as I can see.
