Annie (Bella 08-499)

Profile

Bella is Italian for beauty, or beautiful or basically anything pertaining to beauty or beautiful.

Bella is a female PB who came to us from South Dakota. She is a petite little girl who has the prettiest brown eyes I have ever seen. When I look into that pixie face and those brown eyes my heart just melts. Bella is red in color and is estimated to be 4 years old. She has a pretty tail in that it has the long hair on the last 6 – 7 inches. I am constantly pulling weed seeds out of the other dog’s tails but not Bella’s. Bella is up to date on all her shots but will need to be spayed. Right now we are concentrating on putting on some weight. She was pretty skinny when she came to us. Bella was not named, so she is learning her name and basic obedience. Bella would do well to go through a class as she likes to counter-surf and jump. She is very, very sweet. During her exam she was a good girl. She allowed the vet to do a total exam with not so much as a sideways glance. She was poked several times with vaccinations and blood drawn and did not move. I was very impressed. She has the basic ear infection that we are treating. She should be clear of that in a few more days.

She was not crate trained so she is learning that a crate is a great place to go for snacks and to eat. She currently stays in the crate during the day while I am at work. She sleeps in the bedroom on the floor in a “nest” of blankets. Bella makes quite a production of going to sleep. She scratches the blankets into a pile while making a circle. Actually several circles! She then settles into the middle of the pile and circles up in a little ball.

When friends stopped by to see her the other night, one commented on how “regal” she looks. I must agree. She holds her head up with such dignity and class. She looks like a little filly when she is running.

Bella does not wrestle with the other goldens, but does love to run with them. I think Bella would do well with another dog as she is a little timid. When walking she is right next to me to get extra pets and head scratches. She does not appear to have any allergies to food.

Bella is ready to meet families and find her forever home. She is beautiful, just like her name.

Sweet Bella continues each week to be more comfortable living the Golden life. She loves to be where I am rather than play with the others in the house. But if I let them all outside and I stay in, I watch from the kitchen window while she runs and chases with Max. When she is playing with a ball it is such fun to watch as she throws it up in the air and catches it. When I step outside she runs over and then becomes Velcro again. One day this week she continued to play even when I was outside. YEA!!

She has gained some weight so her ribs are not sticking out anymore. She is starting to build some body muscle the more she and Max plays.

Bella will need another dog and a fenced yard when she goes to her forever home. Another dog gives her the 4 legged guide she needs and the fence gives her the safety.

Bella will be at PetCo in Maple Grove on Saturday, December 20th.

Bella's First Snow

Bella and the Boys   (Bella is the 3rd one from the left)

Beautiful Bella is doing just GReat. She has put on some weight so you don’t see her ribs like you use to. She is playing more with the other Goldens. She is figuring out that it is a lot of fun to chase and be chased by the others. However, Bella is still more content to be next to me.

Bella is a digger. She escaped from the yard on Friday by digging under the fence. Since she is so tiny – it does not have to be much of a hole to get out. Obedience class and knowing the boundaries of the yard should stop that behavior.

She is so gentle and sweet. She is very accepting whenever anyone comes to the house. She does not shy away or go hide. She is social and loves to get pets, even from strangers. She does not bark accept when I come home. Bella wants out of her kennel immediately. We are working on developing some patience. Bella does like to chew. I have lost one sock to Bella. Oh-well – I shouldn’t have left them laying around. Having chew toys would be a good idea.

She is very camera shy.  Which is odd since she is so social. Whenever I pull out the camera she gets very scared and she goes and hides. Not knowing her full background, I am not sure what would have caused her fear. Trying to get a decent picture has been very difficult.

Bella will be at PETCO in Coon Rapids on Saturday, November 1st. This will be Bella’s first big outing since coming to my house. Please come and see Bella – once you meet her, you will never forget her.
