Profile

Billy came to the U.S. with the help of RAGOM International Outreach partners in Turkey. He is learning basic commands in English and is very playful and loving. He’s enjoyed every dog he meets, but because he has a high prey drive he should not live with cats. Due to his enthusiasm, aggressive play, and mild resource guarding, any children in his forever home should be age 13 or older. Recall is a work in progress so he will require a fenced yard.

Billy has found his forever home and couldn't be more excited for the next chapter of his journey! He is a happy boy who will be thrilled about the abundance of squirrels to chase from his new yard and all the love he is going to receive.

Billy is a super sweet dog who is going to make a great addition to someone's family! He has made a smooth transition coming all the way from Turkey and can't wait to find his ‘furever’ home.

Billy is 2 years old and still has a lot of puppy energy! He will play all day long (with you, another dog, or by himself). He gets between one and three walks a day and is a good runner as well for short distances (we haven't tried going too much more than a mile).

Billy is highly food motivated and is currently working on his English. Though initially confused, he can now confidently sit and lay down, he is starting to recognize his name and will come (when he feels like listening). When he is outside, he is less likely to listen, however. There are too many good smells! He will need a fence because he loves being outside but won't always come back.

Some of Billy's favorite activities include chasing squirrels, soccer, rolling in the grass, and playing with his toys.

He is fine left alone and has free range of most of the house when I'm not home. He sleeps usually in his crate but with the door open and with free range of the house. He can be prone to thieving sometimes when he wants attention and will grab a shoe or something within reach on the counter. With his stolen items, he has shown mild aggression when they've been confiscated.

He is very loving and with that enthusiasm can't help but to jump on you when he greets you. He is also a very enthusiastic player and will sometimes (unintentionally) mistake a hand or leg for the toy or blanket he is trying to push into your lap to play with. For this reason, I think older children only (age 13+) will be best in the home as younger children may get overwhelmed.

He loves every other dog he has met thus far. Most have been large dogs. He has not met any cats, but he has a very high prey drive.

Overall, he is extremely well behaved and very loving. Once he trusts you, he is very loyal. With some training of English commands, he will become a perfect new member of your family.
