Aspen was born with a deformed right rear leg. She tends to hold that leg up most of the time. On occasion, she uses that leg for stability, such as running and sitting.

The vet recommends that Aspen should leave her leg and see how it develops as she grows. Her leg doesn't cause her any discomfort and doesn't slow her down.

Aspen will need to be kept at ideal weight throughout her life. Any excess weight will cause additional stress on her other legs. She will need exercise, but needs to be something that she could handle.

Aspen is a happy and typical puppy. She's working on potty training and takes cues from our dogs. She has a great personality and loves playing with other dogs. She hasn't been cat-tested yet.

Aspen is a 12-week-old Golden Retriever. She came from a commercial breeding facility.

She is currently being evaluated for a limp and carries her right rear leg. The veterinarian is evaluating her X-rays. Aspen uses her right rear leg for stability. She doesn’t have any pain and runs and plays like any other puppy. If the leg doesn’t grow with her, it won’t be useful.

Aspen can be with other dogs as well as be the only dog. She doesn’t require a fenced yard.
