Welcome Tasha! What a beautiful, sweet little girl! Tasha was surrendered to RAGOM from a high kill animal control shelter in Texas. She was transported to MN and joined our family on Sunday, September 9.

Since Tasha was found as a stray the 2 Vets she visited can only estimate at her age. They believe she is about 9 months old and weighs 38 pounds. She is a Golden Retriever mix. Tasha received her rabies vaccine in Texas on Sept. 6 and today was given all her other vaccines to bring her UTD. She is scheduled to be spayed and micro chipped Sept. 18. The Vet today did discover she was positive for hookworms. We started the treatment today with a Heartgard Plus pill and will need to follow up in 2 weeks with another. After that treatment (30 days from today) her stool will need to be checked again. This is not a longstanding issue and should be resolved within the first 2 treatments.

Now on to the good stuff about Tasha or should I call her peanut. She is a true sweetie. Just look at her pictures! Tasha has lots of energy and loves to cuddle. My 2 daughters keep asking if we can keep her, we haven't had a puppy before and they are melting from all her kisses. Tasha loves to run around the house with squeaky toys. Our 2 resident boys love chasing after her and playing tag with the toys. She is a puppy so of course comes the new exploring she likes to do at our home, she does have free roam when we are home but I do use the crate at night and she does great. With the exploring she likes to counter surf and jump up on the furniture. We have been teaching her that some of the furniture is off limit. She is so smart and is already running by the couch without even thinking she wants to jump on it to hide from the big boys. Tasha is always at my side or following me around. We tried swimming in the lake last night and she loved it!

In the last 48 hours we have learned a few fun things about her...she can sit on command, loves to be groomed(and did well getting her toe nails trimmed), we can stick our hand in her food dish while she eats, she loves to walk but could use some obedience training- she is so smart! Right now as I type out the update she is laying under my feet.

Tasha can not be adopted until she is spayed but you can still come and meet her and get lots of puppy kisses.

Today Tasha found her FOREVER family. The "N" family along with her new big sister (former RAGOM dog) Lucy, welcomed her with lots of hugs. Tasha couldn't wait to jump in their van and head to her new house with a fenced yard and lake. They make such a beautiful family. It warms my heart to see such joy and excitement from all.

We will miss all your puppy kisses and squeaky ball noise. Love Deana and the girls.
