Hi - Bailey died last Thursday, October 3, 2019. She had a liver tumor in her belly that finally was impacting her quality of life (now mine is impacted...). She was the best dog for our family: first to hang out with my husband when he was treated for cancer, then afterwards, she helped me cope with his loss in 2015. The picture is from last week before we headed to the U Vet clinic, stopping for a DQ cone on the way.

Within minutes of arriving at our house, Miss Bailey made herself right at home. Every day we waited for Bailey to show us her flaws, but instead, every day she just got sweeter and sweeter. Bailey even brought out the best in our high-energy resident Josie! We knew this special girl wouldn't be with us for long.

Carol and Steve came to meet Bailey shortly after reading about her on the RAGOM website. Once they met, it was obvious to us that Bailey had found her forever home. Bailey was adopted by Carol and Steve and happily jumped in the car with them to start the rest of her life. Bailey's new mom and dad are recently retired and have promised her lots of walks in the neighborhood park, lots of snuggles, and many trips to the family cabin. We wish them years and years of health and happiness together.

Please welcome sweet Miss Bailey to RAGOM! Bailey is almost 6 years old (DOB 4/24/2008) and has a beautiful blonde silky coat. Bailey's large family was no longer able to provide Bailey the care she deserved, so asked RAGOM to help find her a new home.

Bailey is everything that's wonderful about Goldens. She is very gentle and intelligent. She is incredibly calm in the house, but thoroughly enjoys a game of chase and wrestle with resident Josie when outside. She is a lovely passenger in the car. Bailey is 100% housebroken and goes to the door when she needs to go out. She is a dream to walk with a flat collar.

Bailey sleeps quietly on a dog bed in our bedroom at night. We would completely trust her with free roam when we're gone during the work day but we don't have that same trust with resident Josie, so we use baby gates to keep the dogs separate while we're gone. She came from a family with 11 children and it was reported she got along with kids of all ages. We were also told she shared her bed with cats.

As fosters, we're used to giving new foster dogs a few days to settle in and get used to us and our routine. It didn't take Bailey any time to settle in. Within minutes, Bailey was completely relaxed in our home and rolled over on her back for a belly rub. She has the cutest smile ever!

Bailey had her wellness exam with our RAGOM vet and unfortunately, along with her wonderful Golden personality, she has some not so wonderful health issues common to Goldens. Bailey suffers from seizures. She is on phenobarbital to control her seizures. From what we can tell from her previous vet records, as long as she gets her medication on a regular basis, her seizures are well controlled. She hasn't had a seizure while in our care. Her phenobarbital levels tested at therapeutic range, so we'll keep her on her current medication. Bailey is also quite chubby. She currently weighs 86#. The vet would like to see her lose at least 10#. Bailey tested positive for Lyme, so she's on a three-week course of Amoxicillin.
