Please welcome beautiful Baily to the RAGOM community.  She is a three year old spayed female Golden mix. This will just be an introduction because she will not be available for adoption until after she receives surgery for a partially torn ACL and completes her recovery and rehab.

Baily was surrendered to RAGOM by her owners for economic reasons (the surgery is very expensive) and for practical reasons ( they would not be able to provide Baily with the best environment in which to recover from the knee surgery due to both being away from home all day). This was a very difficult and emotional decision for everyone involved.

Baily is a sweetheart...the most loving pup you can imagine and a real tribute to her loving upbringing. Baily is said to be good with children of all ages and with other animals. I haven't observed her yet with children and just on a limited basis with other dogs.   All good. There are no resident pets here currently which works out well for Baily's recovery period.

Baily is house trained, free to roam in the house, needs no crate and has always enjoyed a fenced -in yard. She has very good manners. All she wants is love, love and more love. She sleeps through the night in her bed alongside my bed.

Baily went to see the veterinarian last week for a wellness visit and to be microchipped.  She did just fine in the car, sitting up straight in all her Goldenness and enjoyed all the admiring glances.
Everyone loved her at the vet's and she only balked at one thing...the scale. It took two of us to get her on it and no wonder...98 pounds!

Much to Baily's regret, she is now on a diet with a target weight of 75 pounds. Some of the weight must come off prior to surgery so we do not yet have the date for the surgery.
She is also on a 30 day trial of thyroid medication and a pain reliever.

After leaving the vet she went across to the groomer and got "the works", a bath, blow dry, nails clipped and an all-over trim. She was an angel through it all and made more new friends.
Baily is a special, special dog.

Saturday, January 18th, Baily's status  changed from adoption pending to adopted!!
She has a wonderful new family and a wonderful life awaiting her.....and really, a new birthday.
You can see how nicely she is doing with her repaired knee and she will be well-cared for as she continues to improve and regain full mobility.
Best of all, she will be loved unconditionally ...forever.

Baily had a milestone day on Monday, January 6th, when she had her long-awaited knee repair surgery. The surgery went very well and Baily now has begun  her recovery and rehabilitation which  usually lasts about 3 months.

She is walking with care and supervision and beginning gentle passive range of motion exercises .For now she is forbidden from climbing stairs and is confined to one level in the home. She is still feeling the effects of surgery but is comfortable and as sweet- natured as always.

Baily came to RAGOM at 98 pounds and weighed 87.5 pounds on Monday. She will continue on with the green bean diet until she reaches her goal weight which will probably be about 75-77 pounds.

Big thanks from Baily, me and her adoptive family to everyone involved in bringing Baily into RAGOM, arranging the surgery, transporting Baily back and forth to surgery in frigid temperatures, PERFORMING the surgery and caring for her at the clinic, and to everyone else in RAGOM , all of who offered and continue to offer so much support, encouragement and advice...thank you for what you have given our beautiful Baily!
