Banjo 08-267

Profile

Banjo has arrived in Marion, Iowa!! JOE, as we are calling him is a happy 4 1/2 month old pupper from a small breeder who could not find homes for Banjo and his siblings. He was born on January 3, 2008 and is a beautiful reddish/brown color. He is one sweet guy!

Joe immediately went to work with me today since I picked him up in the early afternoon. He met several people, walked on all kinds of surfaces and appeared to enjoy his time on the leash. When we came home, he met all four resident dogs. Of course, they all charged at him to scratch and sniff and poor Joe was a bit overwhelmed. But, we eventually made it to the yard where he could run free and play the rest of the evening. My three children (13,11 and 7) met Joe and he was a "close to perfect" gentleman. He tried to jump up once but sits nicely when redirected. He played fetch, tug of war and chase the deflated soccer ball with great gusto.

We went on a long walk and now Joe is sleeping at my feet. He is a super sweet dog. Right now I'd say he is a bit on the timid side but with more positive experiences, he'll certainly become more confident. Will he be just the perfect dog for your family????

Hello Ragom Friends,

We wanted to share with you updates from Raymond formerly Banjo 08-267.  Raymond came to our family on June 12, 2008 and has been such a joy. Raymond is a community volunteer working as a therapy dog team with me.  He loves to visits with just about any age group of people, children he enjoys the most.  What has to come before volunteering is his ball.  He loves to fetch, which fits right in with his heritage and he will do it all day.  We feel so blessed to have Raymond in our lives.  Thank you to all of you we have been in contact with to bring us together.

Hello Michelle,

It has been three weeks today that Ray (formerly known as Banjo) left the safety of his foster family to venture north. To be joined with his forever family. Ray is also 6 months today. I have been thinking this would be the perfect time to contact you with just a few photos of our boy.

Ray did go to the vet two week ago and the assistant stated "everyone loves Raymond has round worm". He was given his 2nd dose today of his meds for that. Hopefully it is now being wiped out. He also did get his next HW & Frontline. Ray is still on the brand of dog food you sent up: Natures Variety. He has added to his weekly treats: bananas, apples, carrots, & celery. Michelle, you were right, there is something very strangely special about this young man, his middle name is service. He is going all day trying to serve you. If you are pulling in the garden hose he is helping you bring it in. Some may call this puppy, I would like to think it is special.

We went this week to watch a class and sign up. Ray is going to start this month the basic obedience and puppy agility, we'll see how that goes. He was very well mannered at class watching the dogs practicing their talents in class. The school we found, Elk River K9, will take him all the way - good citizen and therapy companion. We are going to be busy. We need not forget those naps, that is when we seem to grow.

Thank you again for all your help and understanding and Happy 4th of July, we will keep in touch,

Brian, Sheila & Raymond

Joe Joe is absolutely a beautiful Golden boy. He is doing great! He and my little Cody will miss each other when that special family adopts Joe Joe.

Joe is so easy to have around. He is walking better on lead each time we go out. He is crate trained. He is doing well with pottying in the right spot but I still let him out frequently and have to watch for clues he needs to go out. He'll be neutered this week. He is growing taller and gaining some weight. He is great in the car and loves everything and everyone he meets.

Hey, look at ME! I can climb on chairs and my little buddy Cody is helping to encourage my superb climbing abilities. Foster Mom will not be happy that we once again collaborated with each other!!

Yes, our beautiful boy Joe has become rather fond of our furniture and our dogs. He is a terrific family member and although he requires adult supervision, he is sweet as pie. After a long day of play, he's out like a light. SWEET AS PIE.

Here is Joe in living color! He is such a great puppy. He loves playing outside with the other dogs. He and our young pup are buddies.

Joe sleeps soundly in his crate at night. He needs a pretty big one since he is all legs. He loves to stretch out completely to sleep. So far, so good on the potty training. He will go on command outside. He eats his dinner while sharing everything nicely with our dogs.

He does love the furniture so if you are wishing for a dog who will snuggle with you on the couch, Joe is your man!!

Joe is up to date on everything and will still need to be neutered. Otherwise, he is ready to find that special family!!! He is a love bug.
