Shanna’s puppies are doing well - there are 6 girls and 4 boys.  We lost the 5th boy during delivery.  These pups do not have names yet, but very soon they will.  The puppies weighed in at .75 to 1 pound.

Toes 07-277 is also pictured here with Shanna and her puppies because she is one of them now and she weighs 1.6 pounds.

These puppies will be ready to go home around June 24th – if you are interested in meeting them please email placementatragom [dot] org.  I will start individual updates at the end of May, but if you would like to talk about them, we can do that!

Basil is such a solid boy – I mean this boy is solid muscle and built like a mack truck!  Basil weighed in at 9.75 pounds and the 2nd to largest of all the puppies.  Basil loves to cuddle and I will so miss that!

All the puppies went home today because they got Coccidia last week and really the only way to get rid of this nasty worm is to keep the area very clean and make sure the puppies do not lick each other, step on the poop and other things that are really hard to control with 9 very active puppies.  So the vet suggested we let the puppies go home since they are all HUGE and doing very well.

So we gave our instructions to all the new parents and told them to love our puppies.   I miss them already!

Basil continues to amaze us each and every day.  This little boy is so incredibly smart!  He refuses to go potty inside and even in the middle of the night he will let you know it is time to go out!

Basil is still darker than the other pups but not like it was before.  He has started to lighten up.  However he is still the stockiest and more muscular than the rest.  I just love this sturdy little body on him.

Basil was lucky enough to find his forever home with Jerry and Jan and will be joining them around the 20th of June!

Basil – who is looking for the perfect family and hopes he will be meeting them this weekend, so wish him luck!  Basil turns 4 weeks tomorrow!  Can you believe it?  I can’t, these guys are great puppies and now they are working on potty training.  We built them a little puppy ramp so they can get out the door and on to the deck.  It is so fun!!!

If the puppies can eat outside they have their meals in the great outdoors and than like clock work, everyone potties!  Yep it’s true; we stay outside until every one finish their business, than we bring them in so we can hose down the area.  Once that is done if they are still playing we will bring them back out to play for a while.  This is morning two, of a clean pen when we got up in the morning!  I just love that!  Lots of little pee spots but that is so easy to clean up while they are eating, no piles to clean is awesome!  These guys are the best pups around.

Okay enough of the bragging – we have so much to cover with these little guys.  Basil went to the vet and weighed in at 4.25 pounds.  Dr. L. thought he was doing great!  He got another dose of de-wormer and won’t be seen now until hhe is 7 weeks to get micro chipped and given her first set of shots.

Basil would like to give a great big thank you to her sponsor Claus and Sheri  Mahler.  Thank you so much for caring about RAGOM and their dogs.  We could not do this without you and your support

Basil is still available at this time but we know that will change in just a matter of days.  Basil is the darkest of the puppies and is so handsome and distinguished.  Basil loves his mush and really like to take his time and make sure he chews each bite.  Like his little Sister, Bree – he is the smallest boy pups.

Basil will continue on the good food and continue to grow.  Basil and all the pups will be heading to the vet on Friday to get check out again and make sure we do not have any more nasty worms.

Basil would like to thank everyone for thinking about him while he is looking for his family.

Basil continues to be a wonderful little boy – he has a very dark coat that is currently wavy.  He is still the smallest of the boys and weighs more than 2 pounds now.  Man, he is cute and cuddly.

We continue to look for homes for the boys and I am sure with a little luck our Basil will find his own home in a few weeks too.

Basil loves drinking from the bottle but he also has found Bootsy’s food dish and will eat from that too.

Shanna is not producing any milk but you can find Basil latched on just for the closeness to his mom during the night hours.

Basil is doing great and is growing by leaps and bounds.  We went to the vet yesterday and he now weighs 1.44 pounds which is the middle weight of the boy puppies.  He received his first dose of de-wormer and the vet said his heart and lungs sound great and he has no signs of a heart murmur.  Yea for Basil!

Basil is doing wonderful with bottle feeding and he also loves to try and get milk from mom.  When it happens we are very happy, but when the puppies are crying and trying to get milk we know we have to help.  Basil continues to love sleeping next to his sister Bree to keep nice and warm.

Basil will go back to the vet in a few weeks to get another dose of de-wormer and than he won’t go back until he is 7 weeks for shots and micro chipping.

Basil (boy pup) was the fourth born of 11 pups.  He made his way into this world during his car ride from a breeder in MO to his foster home in Apple Valley, MN.  Basil was born on 4/28 at 7:04 in the evening.  He will always have a Light Blue or Teal collar on when we take pictures.

Basil was born at .7 ounces; he was and still is very small.  One week later he is gaining but still only weighs 1.2 pounds.  Basil does not mind the formula so he should continue gaining weight even though mom can not feed him as much as he would like to eat.

Thanks for checking on Basil – he will be ready at the end of June for adoption.

Shanna pups are doing great – I just have one picture of where they all go when we have to bring Shanna out – as you can see this won’t last much longer – they are already our growing one basket!  Everyone weighs over 1 pound now which is great news.  Now we just have to keep things going in the right direction.
