Hey all, Bella here!  I am so excited to be in a nice loving indoor home.  By my pictures you can tell that I was recently shaved.  My foster mom finished the job and made it look much better.  I was covered with matts, and aside from being a little chilly sometimes it feels so much better!  I am estimated to be about 8-9 years of age, and have been to the vet and got an all clear.  I am housebroken and LOVE LOVE LOVE attention.  Being I am getting up there in years it might be best to find a forever home with few steps.  I handle the two coming into the house and the five going up to the upper floor pretty well.  Big long flights of stairs might be difficult for me.  I get along fine with kids and cats, dogs are fine as long as they are older like me.  I am looking forward to a forever home that is quiet and has lots of love to give.  I love to go on walks and even jog a little.  They keep calling me prancer because I walk and prance around my front feet.  I also LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE to ride in the car!  My in depth work up at the vet was done because I am a  "senior" and I came back in perfect health.  I have a little stiffness in my back legs but its doesn't stop me!  If you think you might be the perfect forever home I am looking for make sure to contact placementatragom [dot] orgThat's all for now, time for a nap!*Bella

Hi everyone!  Bella here for the LAST TIME!  Can you believe it....Mom and dad finally decided that there was no way they could let me go.  I don't know what took them so long.....I have known for a long time that this was my forever home but I guess it takes people longer to make a decision.  I knew if I was patient this day would come.  Mom said she knows my back half issues are getting a little worse which means more "accidents" but she doesn't care.  They love me accidents and all...how cool is that!!  I will have the best senior golden years with people who adore me and want nothing more than to take care of me.  And check out my handsome brother, Bugsey!!  He takes my soft, pink bed but that is OK cause mom made another one for him so we swap once in awhile.  He likes to act all tough and macho, but I know that he loves me...sometimes he tries to give me a little kiss when he doesn't think anyone is looking!!!  The big lug!  So, thank you RAGOM for helping me find a family to love me and thanks to everyone who read my updates.  Life is good!  But remember, some where out there is a homeless dog (like I was) that needs a loving home like yours.  Please open your doors and your hearts and let them in.  If you can't do that, maybe you could sponsor a dog with medical issues to help them get on their way to a fantastic Golden Life. Take care and big, wet, old lady kisses to all of you!!!!

Hi everyone!  Sorry it has been so long since I have checked in!!  I am doing pretty good but just trying to stay warm during this frigid winter weather we have been having.  I attended a Pet Smart event a week ago and have attached a picture of my new coat.  Mom found this faux fur coat and thought this would help keep me warm.  Everyone thought I was so beautiful and I really have to agree!!  Mom tried it on my fur brother, Bugsey, and he looked great in it too.  Not as good as me, but not bad for a BOY!!  Seems my back legs are getting a little weaker making it harder for me to get around, but I still manage.  Mom helps me out a little sometimes but, I still make my snow angels and the other night ran up the hill when we went for a walk.  I can still out run Foster Mom!!!!  Well, take care and I will check in again soon.  Love to all

Hi all!!!  Just popping in to say HI and show off the new bed that FM made me!!  She knows that pink is my favorite color and boy is it soft!!!!  I think pink is definitely my color....what do you think??   Things are going pretty good for me.  I am feeling good and have been busy making snow angels in the light, fluffy snow.  FM said I gave her a heart attack today because after going potty I felt like making a snow angel and FM thought I fell and couldn't get up.  She almost ran out in the subzero weather in her bedroom slippers and bathrobe.  Gosh, she is so hyper!!!  The bad thing about the cold is that the fine snow does something weird to my feet when I take a walk.  It hurts and I cannot walk.  But leave it to FM....she picks me up and carries me home!  Boy, do I have her trained or what?!!  Well, I think I will go back to my bed and take a nap.  I will write again soon.

Happy New Year!!!  I can only hope that the new year will be as great as 2007 has been thanks to RAGOM!  As you can see, I really love the snow.  I especially love the little treats that the rabbits leave in it but mom & dad always try to step in to make sure I don't get them.  I don't get what the big deal is..... Christmas was good with lots of family and fun times.  Boy, is my foster family loud!  I think it is probably a good thing I don't have the best hearing!  I am doing pretty good.  Mom says it appears I am having a little more trouble getting up and that I walk kind of sideways until I get my "sea legs" but I don't mind.  I can still run on my walks and make snow angels....well, half snow angels as I can't roll on my back.  So, I make 1/2 and then I get up and flop down on my other side to make the rest of it.  Where there is a will, there is a way.  Well, have a great new year and I will write again soon.

Hi everyone!  Just a quick note to let you know that I am surviving the winter weather!!  Iowa had ice/rain today and although I like the snow, I don't like this stuff!!  If I could wear ice skates it might be ok.  I am having a hard time getting around on the ice as my legs keeping slipping and making it very hard to go potty.  FM seems to think it is pretty funny..... but I don't!!!  I sent a new picture.  Don't I look like quite the young lady??  I am feeling good but not much new going on, which is fine with me.  I like things to stay the same.  I really like the Christmas decorations that mom is putting up.  Very pretty (just like me!)  :-)  Mom keeps asking me what I want for Christmas but I haven't given her very many ideas.  I don't get the idea behind toys or chew bones so I am not sure what I will ask Santa for.  Well, mom said it is time to go out on the skating rink again, so I will write again soon.

Hello!!  Just wanted to send this picture of me and mom and let everyone know that I am doing pretty good.  Life is really good when mom gets down on the floor and snuggles with me.  She knows that I cannot sit in her lap like my foster brother Charlie does, so she comes down to me.  I have been enjoying the fall weather and I love walking in the leaves!  I have been leaving my mom & dad "presents" pretty regularly and they have been trying really hard to get me back on some kind of schedule.  Some days I cooperate and others.....not so much, but they keep trying.  Some days I think they are going to walk my legs off!!!!  I am looking forward to Thanksgiving and spending the day at Grandma's.  That will be lots of petting and lots of good food!!  Mom says our family has lots of things to be thankful for this year and that I am one those things!  How sweet is that.  Well, I hope everyone reading this has a great Thanksgiving day and I will write soon.

Bella is taking a nap so I thought I would check in.  Bella is doing well.  We started her on some new pills about a week ago but have not seen any improvement with her back half yet.  She is loving the cooler weather and really likes to walk in the leaves and lay in the sun.  She supervised me today while I washed screens in the driveway and then we both layed in the grass and enjoyed the beautiful day!  I am not sure who had a harder time getting up.....me or her but it was well worth every ache and pain!!!!  And the neighbors can always use a good laugh!  That is all for now and we will be checking in again soon.

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to let you know that I went to the Dr. last week and he took some pictures of my hips.  He said that my hips look fine (Yeah) but he thinks the issues with my "back half" might be due to some kind of pressure on my spinal cord (Boo).  He said it could be inflammation, injury or even a tumor.  So, he took me off my Rimadyl and I start taking Prednizone tomorrow for 10 days.  When I am done, FM has to call him and let him know if I am any better.  I guess then they will decide what we need to do next.  So, keep me in your thoughts and I will let you know in a couple weeks what is going on.  Until then, give all your fur butts a big hug and kiss and tell them how special they are and how much you love them....just like my FM does to me ALL the time!!!

Hi everyone!  Sorry it took so long for me to write but I was waiting for the RAGOM picnic so I would have some new pics.  The handsome boy laying next to me is my favorite ex-ragom dog, Junior. Isn't he handsome?!  We had fun going to MN in the van.  I also got to meet my FM first foster, Nash, and I must say that he is a "hottie" too.  As you can see when Junior's dad got out of the van for snacks....I took his seat!  That really surprised them. I guess they don't know this old girl can be quite a trickster!  Once at the picnic I just kind of layed around and let everyone come up to me.  I look pretty good in my red vest, huh?  There were lots of nice people and dogs too.  I really behaved and didn't growl at any of them.  On the way home I used my "womanly ways" to lure over a golden that got loose from his owners at a rest stop.  When he came to check me out, mom grabbed his lease and gave him back to his family.  I heard mom say that they didn't even say thank you but she didn't care because we kept him from running out on the big highway!  I have been feeling pretty good but I heard my FM & FD talking about my bad hips.  They think I better go in and see the Dr. as it has been a little harder these days getting up after sleeping.  I guess they forget that I am not a young girl!  Well, I better go for now and will write again soon.

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to let everyone know that I am doing very well.

My foster mom bought me this new scarf and I love it.  She put it on me and I didn't just go outside to go potty....I had to parade up and down the block so people could enjoy my beauty!!!  Lots of people smiled when they drove past so I know I looked FINE!!!  Things are about the same around here.  I got off my poop schedule last weekend so I gave my foster home a "present" overnight but they didn't get mad.  They never do!  They keep telling me I am the best girl ever and it can be picked up with no problem!  So, I guess I need a forever home that is willing to get little suprises if I don't go in the morning and before bedtime.  Other than that, life is just great.  Summer is almost over and I am looking forward to the cooler weather.  I am really excited to go to Minnesota in September to the big party on the 22nd!!  My mom is excited too as she will get to see Nash, the foster boy before me.  I can't wait to meet him and all the nice RAGOM people.  Well, take care and I will write again soon.

Bella is resting after a busy night at foster grandma's house so I thought I would check in.  Bella is doing just great.  She continues to be a joy to foster.  She is a sweet girl that only wants to give and get lots of love.  She has her days when she acts like a young dog...running, barking and being silly but she also has senior days.  She needs a family willing to be patient and take the time to let her out.  She doesn't tell us when she needs to go outside but we have learned her schedule and know what signs to watch for.  She recently went to Petco and found this rawhide that she just had to have....she really didn't know what it was for, but she wanted it.  She is slowly learning it is for chewing but she only gets to chew it when the resident boys are outside.  If you are a family that is home most of the day and has plenty of time to give her the love she craves...this might be your girl.  She is a total love bug.  Well that is all for now.

Just a quick note to let you know that I am still waiting for my forever family!  My FM says I am the best girl ever and that I make her laugh.  The other night I got really excited about going on a walk and took off running down the street, from one side to the other acting like a crazy young girl!!  FM could hardly keep up with me!  Mom said I really need to go to a home that has very few stairs and a fenced yard would be great, cause I don't really like being on a rope.  But I do like to lay in the sun.  Well, if you think I am the girl for you be sure to give RAGOM a call.  Will write again soon.

Hi everyone!  It's me Bella checking in.  Sorry it has been so long since my last update but when you are a senior, you don't do too many exciting things.  Besides the normal issues that go with being older, I am doing great!!  My foster parents have me on a joint medicine to help with my achey joints and the nice Dr. gave me some other medicine to help keep me feeling good.  It must work pretty good cause I have been acting pretty crazy!!  I played out in the yard with my foster brother Charlie and found out if I bark, everyone laughs!!!!  They say I have a big deep bark for such a little girl and I really love making everyone laugh!!  So, I just keep barking!!!  Mom thinks I must not have been allowed to "speak my mind" in my former life and am making up for lost time.  I sent some pictures too.  As you can see, my hair has really grown back.  Mom tries to brush it but I don't like it much.  Doesn't matter.....she makes me stay still and get brushed.  The cute boy at the vet's office said he hardly recognized me due to my beautiful golden locks.  Last time he saw me I was just shaved.  So I am still here waiting for my forever home.  If you have lots of free time to pet me and take me on walks, I might be the girl for you.

Hi everyone..Bella here.  Just letting everyone know that I am doing great and really feeling good.  I have a couple new pictures to show you.  One is me riding on the float in a PARADE with my friend Rosemarie.  We were quite stunning, don't you think?  I rode for awhile but then decided I needed to be where the action was so my foster mom took me down and let me walk.  It was sooooo great. EVERYONE wanted to pet me and I let them!  They said how cute I was and how soft my fur is.  I even got to be on TV!!  The guy with the big camera took film of the kids petting me and then zoomed in on my face as I walked by.  I hear that TV adds 10 pounds to you but I think I looked marvelous!  The other picture was my mom's idea..... I think the tutu is a bit over the top but mom said she couldn't resist it!  She can be so weird sometimes but I really do love her!!  Well, that is about all for now.  I am waiting and ready to become a part of your family....and only an email away!!  Let RAGOM know if you think I would make a great addition to YOUR family.

Hi everyone!  It's Bella and I just wanted to give you a quick update.  I am doing fantastic and feeling great.  I even played with my resident brother Charlie last night for the first time.  He is a whopping 80 pounds but I took his toy away from him anyway and gave it a good shake!  Maybe I AM getting the hang of playing with toys.  He tried to get it back but I stood my ground and he finally gave up.  He knows I am a senior girl and he tried his best to play gently with me but when I noticed mom watching I had to stop to get petted..... playing is fun but NOTHING beats being petted!!!  Last weekend I got to go to a picnic with lots of other Golden's.  I didn't really play with them but I sure did like all the people that wanted to pet me.....especially the little girl in the picture.  She did a GREAT job.  Everyone said that I am much prettier in person so maybe YOU should give me looksie!!  If you are looking for a quiet, low maintenance companion and don't care if I am on "the older side" please contact RAGOM.  I can guarantee that I will give you more love and kisses than you can handle!!  See ya next time.

Just a quick update on Bella.  She had two more teeth removed Monday and the Dr. said the rest are perfect!  As you can see by the picture her resident Brother, Charlie, thought she needed someone to watch over her while she recovered.  Today she is back to her happy self and ready for her forever home.  She is very low maintanance and the only thing this little girl requires is someone to give her lots of petting and daily walks/runs.  She is the sweetest girl who gets along with kids, cats and other dogs (as long as they are not too "in your face".  Please look in your heart and see if you can open your home to this fantastic senior girl!!  You will NOT be sorry!

Hi, Bella here!  Just wanted to check in and let everyone know how well I am doing.  My foster mom keeps throwing toys to me (as you can see in the picture) but I really haven't figured out what I am supposed to do with them once I catch them.  I DID find a spikey, blue rubber ball tonight that I thought was pretty cool to chew on but my resident golden brother decided he wanted it too.  He is much bigger than me, so he won.  That is OK.  I would rather be sitting with my foster mom getting petted!  I got to go to the campground this past weekend to visit some family and as you can see I thought it was very relaxing!  I made time to catch a few zzzzzzz's while they all visited.  I am getting along really well but I hear that I have to go the Dr. next week and get some more teeth pulled.....yuck!  But I guess it is good because then I will be able to find my forever home.  My mom keeps telling me what a very special girl I am and that the family that adopts me will be the luckiest people in the world.  I just need to remind everyone that since I am a senior girl I really need a home with very few stairs.  My back legs are not what they used to be and I sometimes have a hard time with them.  That is about all I need...other than someone who has ALOT of time to pet me!  Well, I will write next week after my Dr. appointment!

Happy Mothers Day all!  It's Bella sending some new pictures of me with my foster mom laying in the grass and my human foster sister giving me kisses on Mothers Day!  I had the best time and even got my first dog bone from my foster sister.  It was an amazing day and I sure hope someone out there wants to make me a part of their forever family so I can have many more days like this and share them with you!  Until next time!**Bella**

Bella made it home yesterday from having her teeth cleaned and 5 teeth pulled.  She also had the lump on her hind leg removed.  She is doing fantatic today and back to her old self giving lots of kisses (not smelly anymore!) and wanting a ton of attention.  She does have to go back in a few weeks to have a few more teeth pulled, and then she will be ready for her forever home!
