Bella is a sweet Velcro dog who loves her water. She’s lower energy and likes short walks throughout the day. Bella was surrendered to RAGOM when her owners realized there were too many life changes, and she was not getting the love and attention she deserves. Bella came back to RAGOM after the loss of her owner, who loved her very much. She has been adopted by a couple who are so excited to have her in their family and love her to pieces!

After a whirlwind few short weeks with RAGOM, Bella has found a new home! Her owner is looking forward to bonding through training, walks, and lots of love. The owner has a great caring history with Goldens and will be sure to give Bella (and Bella to her furever home) a Golden life. Congrats Bella! We know you are on your way to being a fabulous girl.

Normally I would have the dog write their own bio, however Bella is too busy being a princess, so here I go.

Bella is four, female, and enjoys the finer things in life such as drinking from a well-filled water bowl and the art of sock fetching. She seems the most happy when having access to clothing articles she can carry around and snuggle with. She is very much a retriever but she does not chew at all nor does she have destructive traits.

Bella was surrendered to us from a very loving home who could no longer give Bella all the love she deserves. She is very well behaved but with a strong personality. She is very much an alpha dog and would be best in a home without other alpha pets, or if the current resident pets are passive and low energy.

She is currently learning to live with two cats and transitioning well, even though the younger cat is a bit of a bully. She likes short walks, prefers the more heavily wooded areas on walks, and dry treats.

Bella does have anxieties with loud sounds. She does not like storms or fireworks. She is also uncomfortable around dump trucks, bobcats, and other things that make loud sounds. This includes the garage door. She will have to be let out through a residential door vs the garage.

She also is not a huge fan of grooming, so her furever home should be experienced and patient, especially with ear cleaning since she currently has an ear infection we are treating.

Currently Bella is in a home that has a “normal” schedule of working 8 hours every weekday. Since there is a learning curve with the cats, Bella and the cats alternate who is kenneled and who is not during working hours.

At first she would go into the kennel without hesitation, but now that she is more comfortable, she makes it clear she does not like being in the kennel for more than a couple hours. Also, now that she is more comfortable, a quirk has arose: she is vocal and likes to bark without being prompted.

I think Bella would be most happy in a home that can recreate at lot of what she came from, including:

  • Continuous free range
  • Short walks several times a day
  • Someone willing to keep training her
  • Wooded areas
  • A quiet neighborhood

Bella does not jump my short fence and currently does not have a history of jumping. However, a large fenced yard would put a big grin on this beautiful girl's face.

She knows several commands and is a complete sweetheart. As of now she’s low energy and prefers short walks and stops a lot when she is ready to go home. She loves her water and is a true Velcro dog.

The surrendering owners said she was exposed to children and other dogs, however via RAGOM, children have not been tested. She’s quickly learning good behavior with the cats and is very intelligent.

However, if dogs (especially small ones) initially greet her “aggressively,” overly vocal, alpha-like, etc., she tends to have issues getting along with them. She is Queen Bee after all. She’s a good girl with the potential to become a fabulous girl, and I look forward to helping her get there.
