I got out of the shelter after having been there for months. When I left the shelter everyone was upset I was leaving telling me what a sweetie I am. They assured me that they have no idea why my owners just dumped me after owning me for years. When my vet was contacted he was surprised as well. But I know now that I’m going to get great care from here on out and I am only five years old.
I’ve been a real good listener since I’ve been here. They were surprised that I know the basic commands and all I want is to please. I slept great the first night. I’ve been adjusting quite well for the first couple of days. There was a storm last night but I was just fine because I know my fosters are caring for me. Their resident dog, Skoey, is welcoming as well. Skoey’s been sharing his toys with me and I am careful to respect Skoey. Can you believe that their dog has a toy box? It is unreal how they treat me here. And boy do I love those treats they give me!
The only thing I need work on right now is barking at strangers. They don’t like that. I’ve been barking at the neighbors and I bark when someone knocks on the door, but geez, I’m not sure who everyone is. I’m just scared, that’s all. My fosters say that they are going to put a stop to the barking immediately. I wouldn’t hurt a soul. I just like being heard. But it’s something I need to work on.
Well, I need to go here. They are giving me a bath because after being dumped at the shelter for months I do need one. And I can’t wait and then I’ll do some REAL cuddling!
