Meet Mischief (aka Miss Missy Mischief in our house)! She is a 3.5 month old golden/lab mix girl who came from a shelter in northern Minnesota with her sister Chaos 08-051.
When she arrived on Friday night it was clear that she had never been in a house before as she really just was not sure about this house thing, but within an hour she was loving it and not at all sure that she wanted to go back outside. She especially likes hanging out on the couch and sleeping on the bed. She is a great sleeper at night -- snuggles on down and doesn't stir for 6 or 7 hours. Take her out to potty and she is happy to snuggle down and snooze for a couple more hours. Housetraining is a work in progress, but we have only had a couple of accidents in the house and she is a quick study. We are also working on taking treats nicely -- sharp little puppy teeth hurt! She loves her food and her treats so this is a real lesson in self-control for her. It is very cute to watch her try and figure out what she needs to do to get that tasty treat.
We were concerned that naming her Mischief might be a self-fulfilling prophesy, but she really is a very well behaved puppy who likes to chew on dog toys and is easily redirected from all those other tempting things she would like to put in her mouth -- shoes, cords, rugs, cats... Kidding -- she is very good with our cats! She has also won the grudging acceptance of our queen bee resident dog who will normally have nothing to do with fosters. Last night we got them to play tug together and today she allowed Missy to sit right next to her on the couch for a photo session. Very impressive!
If you are looking for a sweet puppy who is well on her way to learning the tough stuff -- house training, sleeping through the night, appropriate chewing -- Mischief would love to meet you!
I love laying on the couch!
