Profile

Belle came to RAGOM because her owner wanted a better life for her including a fenced yard, which is required, and snuggles on the couch with humans. Belle gets along with other dogs but prefers humans, so another dog isn’t required. Her history with cats is unknown, but she does have a strong prey drive for small animals so a cat is not recommended. Children in her home should be 5 or older, as Belle has a habit of gently jumping up for attention and could easily topple a small child.

Belle has been adopted and is having a fabulous time with her new family. She gets to spend time in the city and at her lake home. Belle has a new mom, dad, and their grown children to love her.

Foster family was able to visit Belle at her lake home earlier this month. She's doing fantastic!

Belle has been in foster care for two months now and is having a fantastic time learning a lot of new things. She is a very loving girl who craves human attention and will be your constant sidekick. Belle started her "cycle" two days after arriving at her foster home so we had to put her spay surgery on hold. She is cleared and scheduled for surgery on August 6th.

Her wellness visit indicated great health with the exception of hookworms and whipworms, which have been cleared up with medication. She will need to remain on a monthly preventative that takes care of whipworms as there is a chance of re-infestation.

Belle came to RAGOM because her owner wanted a better life for her including a nice fenced yard to play in and snuggles on the couch with humans. Belle had one litter of puppies but is leaving the breeding life in her past. She was well cared for and socialized to both humans and other dogs.

She previously lived with her female littermate and gets along great with her two Golden roomies in our house: a 5-year-old male and a 3-year-old female. Belle is very independent and prefers to follow humans, so another dog is not required. Her history with cats is unknown, but she has a strong prey drive so a home without cats is best.

Belle has never been destructive, does not resource guard, and takes treats gently. She is 100% housetrained. She does not care for a crate and has proved she does not need one. Belle was unsure of riding in the car but has learned to love it. She has also learned how to swim. She has shown no storm anxiety and sleeps through fireworks!

Belle is a very curious and independent girl and always up for new adventures. She likes to howl with the sirens, isn’t much of a barker, but when she sees the little creatures she will let out some very high-pitched woofs! Belle needs a fence due to her strong prey drive for little critters—and so she can safely burn off her young dog energy.

We go on long daily walks and sometimes take little hiking trips. Belle is not much of a puller—more of a zig-zagger, we call it—she is very curious about things going on around her and seeing new things. She could use a little work on the leash but is very manageable.

She also will need some work on basic commands and learning "off" as she is very loving and likes to gently hop up when humans are standing and sitting. She says "I'm here, can you see me? Let me lick your face twenty times."

Because she could easily topple small humans, children in her forever home should be at least 5 years old. She is definitely a Velcro dog and has loved all people she has met. Belle has even gone out to eat at a couple of restaurants!

Belle is going to make a perfect addition to a lucky family. If you are able to provide her with long daily walks, combing sessions (she loves to be combed), good food, cushy dog beds, and a lot of new and exciting adventures she just may be the dog for you!
