Ben 06-040

Profile

2/13/06: Here are pictures of Ben dressed up for Valentine's Day!!! Ben is six months old. He is a very cute and fluffy pure-bred Golden Retriever. Ben is still settling into life in a warm cozy home, but he is taking it in stride. He has not chewed on anything that he is not supposed to chew on, although I can tell that he is teething. Ben is also getting potty trained and he is doing well, so far. Ben kept up by my side on a brisk walk with his two and a half year old foster brother. I don't think that Ben had been on a leash much before this weekend, but after nibbling and sniffing it, he wore it proudly.

Hello! Just wanted to send in a quick update about Wrigley. Well, he is just about the cutest thing ever. He has brought so much joy and happiness and laughter into my life in the short time I've had him.

He is doing great at potty training. In fact I can't remember the last accident. And as a special bonus, he will sleep in until I get up, and then go outside to potty...it just doesn't get any better than that.

Today he is at the vet to get neutered. Our previous visit to the vet had great results. He weighed in at 39 lbs, which I'm sure he's blown by since he seems to be on a growth spurt. He's in great health and everything checked out fine.

He LOVES the dog park. Oh my gosh you should see him. He plays with all the dogs and all the owners. He just has the greatest disposition and runs around playing and checks in with me every now and then. Since it has been so wet he typically gets a bath when he gets home, since he rolls around so much. The first bath was a little awkward and he was a bit scared. But the second one was fine...he sat in the shower with water pelting down on him, just padding out.

We start obedience classes at the Humane Society next week. I'm very excited as I know he'll do well. We've worked on commands and he has picked them up quickly. He seems to learn very fast and he loves it.

I have a big fenced in yard in which he loves to fetch balls and his frisbee. He just cracks me up with his puppy clumsiness sometimes...falling over himself, skidding out - but he always gets up with a wiggle and a smile on his face.

Wrigley has definitely stolen my heart. He has the greatest fun, puppy yet mellow disposition. My nephews, who are typically afraid of dogs, just love him. And even my sister, who is allergic, thinks he's pretty darn cute and a keeper. And of course Grandma spoils him and asks about him all the time. He is loved by many. I've attached some photos of Wrigley and will continue to send updates to RAGOM. Thank you again for my perfect little jewel.
