Ben has found a wonderful home with the J family. He has already snuggled into their hearts and home so easily it’s as if it was meant to be. He joins a 14-year-old RAGOM girl, Juno, who has welcomed him, too. Ben was adopted 13 years to the date of Juno's RAGOM adoption, and everyone is simply delighted.

Ben arrived on February 1, after making a long journey from China. I’m told that once he landed in New York, he stayed the night at a shelter for international dogs and proceeded to travel by volunteers tag-teaming from New York to Ohio to Illinois to Wisconsin to our home in Woodbury. Thank you to all who made Ben’s transport possible.
He was dropped off just before midnight and we didn’t know what to expect. But after the initial excitement wore off, he just slept in his crate and didn’t make a peep. Over the next few days, we noticed that he was constantly itching and biting his skin. The vet discovered he had an ear infection and skin lesions. After a few weeks of treatment, both conditions have resolved.
Ben's demeanor is very mellow. He’s completely potty trained but is in need of some jumping manners. Leash training is going well, but he likes to lay down if he sees another dog on a walk. He enjoys carrying toys around the house and sleeping by the front door. We have yet to hear him bark!
He doesn’t react to doorbells, deliveries, kids playing outside, dogs walking by… We are so curious about his background because he sure is desensitized to everything. He has a big blocky head that he likes to rest on my leg while I work on the computer. He is so loving and friendly and mellow. He’s a very special dog with a true Golden personality.
