Hello RAGOM fans! My name is Betty and I am 11 weeks old! I arrived from Missouri with my brothers and sisters on Saturday, August 20th. I am a purebred Golden Retriever and don’t tell my siblings this....but I am the cutest!

I was in pretty rough shape when I first arrived at my foster home. I was underweight at 7 lbs and I had a lot of fleas covering me! I had sores & scabs from scratching the nasty flea bites. My foster mom and foster sister gave me a nice bath and worked really hard to comb out each and every flea those first couple of days until I could see the vet. I was a good little girl and sat still as they went through my coat because I knew it was going to make me feel so much better!

I saw my nice RAGOM vet on Monday, August 22. I was given a full exam, microchipped, caught up on vaccinations and started on antibiotics for my open sores. She said I was “fragile” and that my spay surgery should wait about 4 weeks until my skin was healed up. My big surgery is now scheduled for September 25th and then I will be ready for my forever home! I am eating well and filling out nicely.

Foster mom says I am doing “okay” at taking care of my business outside but I still have a long way to go. I have many little “piddle” accidents throughout the day...sometimes even right after I have been outside. I am still trying to get the hang of things. My forever family will need to be very patient with me as I learn to be a big girl. I do like the little treat that I get each time I have gone potty outside! Mmmm...

Believe it or not but I am already learning how to fetch! I love to play and I am so proud each time I return the ball to my foster daddy. I really know how to turn on the charm! I like to sleep in my crate. I don’t make a peep all night long. My bedtime is 10 p.m. and I sleep until my family gets up around 6 a.m.

Did you know that I have really sharp teeth? I like to chew just about anything that is laying around. I don’t understand why my family keeps their shoes in the other room, they are so fun to chew! I even like to chew some furniture but I stop when my family tells me a firm “no” and gives me a puppy chew toy. They say I need to be under constant supervision but I don’t really understand what they mean! I do respect the baby gates that keep me in the kitchen/family room area.
Well, it was very nice to meet you, my adoring RAGOM fans! I can’t wait to read all my fan mail. If you think I would make a nice addition to your family, please contact your placement advisor. Puppy hugs & kisses from me to you!  XOXO

~Betty
