Blake 11-260

Profile

I'm pleased to introduce you to one of RAGOM's newest family members, Blake!

Blake is a 2 - 3 year old male golden retriever weighing in at 85 pounds.  He is thought to be a mix but he looks and acts, 100% golden!  Not much is known about Blake as he was rescued as a stray in the Sioux Falls, SD area.  He is grateful to his rescuers, Denise, Rona & John as they all made it possible for him to get into RAGOM's golden care.  Thank you rescuers!

Blake has been with us for a little over 24 hours and these are our observations so far:

  • Blake respects baby gates - he doesn't like the crate so he's been gated in our kitchen with no issues.
  • Blake seems to be 100% potty trained - not ONE accident!
  • Blake gets along well with others...human and canine.
  • Blake loves affection - who doesn't, right?
  • Blake has free roam at night and is happy laying on the floor next to your bed.

Blake is a healthy boy with the exception of needing to gain a little weight - about 5 - 10 pounds...this boy is TALL!  He's up to date with all his vaccinations and vetting.  At present, he is unavailable as he is healing from his neuter.  He should be all healed up and ready to go to his forever home in a week or so.

Here are a couple pictures of Blake from his big trip to his new foster home, enjoy!

Are we there yet?

This is a pretty comfy ride:-)

Contact your placement advisor if you think Blake or any of the other RAGOM doggies could be a perfect addition to your family!

Blake has passed on. We want to thank Ragom for the wonderful years we had him as part of our family.

Hello Blake fans!  Blake is doing very well in foster care.  He had a bit of trouble in healing from his neuter but all seems to be healing up great now although we will still have him wear the "cone of shame" for a couple more days.

Although Blake is guessed to be 3 years old, he still has A LOT of puppy play in him.  We're trying to keep him calm so he can continue to heal but he's starting to get bored.  He went to the vet the other day and weighed in at 87 pounds...WOW!  And get this...the vet thinks he needs to gain at least 10 pounds!  Although he wants to be by his humans, he is a curious boy and his forever family must know how to handle this big, energetic guy!

He loves his foster sisters, Jayden (09-023) and Maggie (10-332) and it will be fun to see them run and play when he's 100% healed.

Blake is enjoying the sunshine and an elk antler while foster sister Maggie observes.

Here's Blake with his foster sister, Jayden

Blake has had free roam of the house now for two days and hasn't had ANY ACCIDENTS - YAY BLAKE!  He can be left for up to 7 hours alone with no issues.  He has GREAT re-call, can sit, lay down, shake and loves to be brushed.  Oh, and cats?  No problem for this guy!

If you're looking for a big 90 pound puppy to snuggle with this winter, let your placement advisor know you'd like to meet Blake!
