Well, Bobbi has arrived in the land of the Hawkeyes and Drake! She is a very sweet, petite 11 month old golden/lab mix who was not up to date with shots. We went to the vet yesterday and she is in great health; beautiful teeth, no ear infections, trimmed toenails, microchipped and partial shots given. We are waiting to do the rest of the shots later so she isn't getting all of that medication in her system at once. Bobbi is scheduled for spaying on Monday the 4th. She is showing some signs of excessive estrogen so I hope she doesn't go into heat before that. Keep your fingers crossed.
Bobbi's history includes a family with children. She loves children. The family also had a special needs child. Bobbi was originally adopted to become a therapy dog and the surrendering family would like to have her continue that. Bobbi was surrendered due to divorce situation, no fault of her own. She knows sit, come, down and her name. We call her Wiggly Butt. She has that strong lab tail that is very active!!!! She has her active moments but is fairly calm for a 11 month old. We are working on training her on a leash. She is coming along quickly and is very smart. She doesn't pull. Bobbi is potty trained. She got out of her collar once and we all panicked. She came running
back to us with a happy smile saying,"hey, don't get too far from me." She definitely isn't an escape artist and will immediately come when called.
If you are a family/individual who would like to meet Bobbi and will use her for therapy work, please contact RAGOM. Talk to you soon! I don't think that she will be around long!
