We were so happy to adopt Ace (renamed Bodi). He has been such a wonderful addition to our family. He is full of love and cuddles. We cannot thank the foster family enough for taking such good care of this beautiful boy.
He has been enjoying hiking and going on long walks with us. He now loves hopping in the truck and feeling the fresh air on his face. Bodi and our 6 year old golden, Kona, have really clicked and they get along great and love to play together in the backyard. He is looking forward to learning how to swim at the lake this summer.

Ace is a beautiful PB golden retriever boy who was breeder release dog who came to RAGOM a few months ago. Ace was a little scared when he first arrived but gained confidence every day and is a very outgoing and loving pup.
He was adopted by a younger couple who also have a 6 year old PB golden retriever girl at home who will continue to help Ace grow in confidence as a dog and be his best friend. Ace loves all dogs and people he meets. He is going to be a great addition to this active family as he is a very energetic boy who also loves to cuddle.
Ace is going to be greatly missed by his foster family but we wish him the best golden life with his forever family!

Hey all—Ace here. It's been a month since my last update, so I thought I'd let you all know how I have been doing. Things continue to go well at my foster home. I just love having another dog to play with, especially in all this white fluffy stuff. Although I am much more independent than when I first arrived, I am still going to need my forever home to have another large dog to hang out with me.
Foster mom says I have my crate training down pat. Sometimes I am stubborn, however, and won't go in my crate without a treat, but that's just cause my foster sisters have free roam and I just want to be with them.
Foster mom says I need to be a little older and then we'll start trying being out of the crate. Lucky for me my first birthday is only a couple months away! Speaking of birthdays, I attended my first birthday party for my foster sister who turned 4. Check me out in my birthday hat!.
I also keep working on my other commands...sit, place, and here. I know them, but don't always want to do them. Foster Dad is alpha so I always listen to him, but foster Mom...not so much. We are gonna keep working on it together, she says. I would probably do best in a home with both a Dad and Mom, though.
A couple of weeks ago, Foster Mom and Dad took me on my first outing. We went to Fleet Farm where I got to walk around and check out new stuff. I also got to see lots of new people and they all wanted to pet me because they thought I was so handsome. Before we left, I got to pick out a new toy (hopefully one I couldn't destroy, said foster mom).
It was a great trip right up until the car ride home. About a couple blocks from home...I got sick in the car. Foster parents didn't get mad though, they just said it's something we will have to work on slowly cause car rides are new for me.
My foster family has a great dog sitter for when they are away at work. She left these new toys called lick mats and mom puts peanut butter on them. It is so much fun and yummy! Foster mom included a picture of me enjoying mine.
Well, that is all I know for now. I just keep on being a happy pup with my foster family! Enjoy the new pics of me foster mom took…you will notice I like to sleep with toys in my mouth.
Talk to you soon—Ace.

Happy New Year from Ace!
Ace has now been with his foster family for a month and is making great strides! He continues to get more confident each day with the help of his two foster sisters.
Because of Ace's past he will need another large and active dog in his new home to continue to show him the ropes and how to be a dog. Ace also loves having other dogs around to play with, especially out in the snow.
We continue to work with Ace on training and this past week he began to learn what “place” means. We like this command and use it frequently for when the dogs come in from outside, so they don’t walk all over the house with wet or dirty feet and foster mom doesn't have to clean her floors every day.
This past week Ace also enjoyed his first Christmas with his family and even had his own sock from Santa filled with goodies for being such a good boy. I was able to get Ace to pose with his sock on his first Christmas but getting all three to sit still long enough for a group picture was nearly impossible.
We had some really nice weather here in South Dakota just before Christmas, so Ace was able to get out for a few walks before the snowstorm hit after Christmas. He has a lot of energy so at the beginning of walks he does tend to pull, but he gradually improves with each walk.
On one particular walk we had a loose dog run up to Ace. This was a first for Ace while on a walk and I wasn’t sure how he was going to react when the Husky bounded up to him, but Ace did great. He had no reaction other than to sniff the Husky out of curiosity and then continue on with his walk.
We have discovered Ace cannot have plush toys because he shreds them and chews them up. But we have found some non-rawhide bones that keep him occupied when he wants to chew. Ace loves balls and will carry them around in his mouth. We haven’t tried to play fetch with him yet, but I’m guessing he’ll be a natural at it.

Ace has found his way to a new foster home and we are delighted to have him with us. Ace had something of a personality clash with his previous foster’s smaller resident dog. Sometimes two dogs just don't click, so to keep Ace moving forward, a different foster home was found to benefit everyone.
Ace has adjusted wonderfully after a slightly nervous start. He now lives with two full-sized canines: Bella, a 5-year-old female Lab, and Avery, a 3-year-old female Golden. Ace took to our Golden Avery right away. She has been the leader in showing Ace the ropes, such as which door to use to get let outside for potty and playtime in our large yard. He has done very well learning a new routine.
Ace is a typical young pup (toddler) with energy to burn. Since he came from a breeding situation, he has had little training or socialization. He is learning about toys and how to "share." He is quickly picking up the sharing concept using treats-to-trade for a toy.
We are working on commands and some basic training. Ace enjoys going for walks and is excited when we meet people on our walks. So far, we have yet to meet another dog while on our walks.
We are teaching this handsome boy that there is a lot of "love" to be shared in this house and he is safe. He has discovered that snuggling on our bed is a pretty good deal! He is also really enjoying belly rubs from foster dad. The three dogs are getting along very well and Ace is progressing well. He now has his neuter behind him and is looking for his forever home!

Ace is making big strides in foster care. He has learned to “sit” for a treat and takes it gently. He has really gotten the routine down. He knows when we toss some cheese chunks in his crate, it is time to kennel-up and be quiet. He knows to sit and wait before he runs outside.
Ace is a very affectionate boy—Ace is a busy puppy, too! Exploring more and more. Laying on the bed is great! Tearing up paper is fun; digging in the doggie toy basket and scattering ALL of the toys everywhere.
It is funny to watch Ace watch animals on TV—what a hoot! He loves to be pampered (who wouldn’t?) and loves when I give him kisses on his soft nose… he is so adorable. He is very good and comes when he is called. He is just a delight (other than being not-so-crazy about our Corgi!).
We are very impressed at how far he has come from his “breeding background”—it is truly amazing. Ace will make one great family companion! Enjoy his beauty inside and out.

Ace came into RAGOM from a breeder who was retiring. He is a wonderful, beautiful, Golden boy with a great personality. He is very friendly with people and loves his human. He cannot get enough pets or kisses.
He is in great health and a very active fella! Because Ace could easily knock a young child over due to his size and energy, children in his home should be age 10 or older.
He enjoys rubber toys such as Kongs and hard bones like knucklebones. Ace likes to play fetch and is very fast. He enjoys soft toys and tossing them around—under supervision so as to NOT eat them!
He loves to run and play with our resident dog, a large, young Goldendoodle. We also have a Corgi, but smaller dogs are not recommended in Ace’s forever home. Because Ace spent his first months in a breeding environment, he will require another confident dog in his forever home.
He is fine with our dog-savvy resident cat, Lexi, who is 15 years old.
Ace is a typical pup and will snoop and grab things he should not. For example, he is a “counter surfer.” He is a young boy who needs lots of activity and exercise and would thrive in puppy classes.
He is crate trained and potty trained (no accidents). He will whine when first crated, but then he is fine and quiet all night.
Ace will be neutered next week and will be ready to find his forever family!
As with any dog, the more someone is home the better. Puppies need a lot of attention, time, and dedication. He will need a fenced yard and an active household. A big yard would be wonderful!
He is one GREAT dog.
