Boe 10-103

Profile

Please welcome Sir Boe Bear into the Ragom family. He arrived on Saturday after a long drive from Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Many thanks to Rona, John, Sheila, and Karrie for getting him to the cities.

Boe lived with the same family for 13 years. They surrendered him to the shelter because they had no time for him. He was then adopted out from the shelter to a family with small children. He started soiling on the kids beds and the family returned him to the shelter 6 months later. Ragom took him in and brought him to the vet. He has an enlarged prostate and also a urinary tract infection which would explain his accidents in the home. He has been perfect since coming into foster care.

He is a small gentleman who only weighs about 45 pounds. Very small in stature but I think he would look good with a few added pounds. We are going to work on adding them.

Boe loves everyone. He is a very passive little boy that adjusts very easily to any situation. Only 5 days in foster care and he acts like he has lived here forever.

Stay tuned.
More to come as we get to know him.

WOW!!!!   For those of you who play the lottery, let me give you a tip. If you play in Minnesota forget that. Go East and play the Wisconsin version. I hit it SO BIG and I never even bought a ticket.  J

I met my new forever Mom and Dad yesterday. They drove 5 hours one way from Wisconsin to meet ME!!!  They enjoyed hearing FM2 talk about me for hours on end. They thought I was worth the drive and after a busy college graduation the day before they hopped in their vehicle and off they went.
It was love at first sight. They like my small frame, my gentle demeanor and I know my brown eyes were tough to pass on. Living with a cat will be no problem for me.

I now have a Mom and Dad who are retired, will live on acreage in Wisconsin, and a winter home in Florida. YEP, I said I will live in Florida in the winter. SNOWBIRD???  Talk about a road trip? I LOVE car rides.  Whew hew……  No more cold Dakota winters.

I had a great trip to my new home. Stopped for a little lunch (shhhhh….I had a little bit of hamburger) and off again we went. I walked into my new home, found the cat food and snarfed that down in a few seconds. I guess that bowl will be placed elsewhere. Then was given my own bowl of food. No thanks! J  I’m holding out for the good stuff.

Many thanks to Ragom for all you have done for me. I know there are many grateful goldens out there and I too am one of them. A special thank you also to our donators. Without you, I could not have gotten so lucky.

Will keep you posted.

Hey everyone, Boe here. I know I have been a little slack about keeping you updated on the happenings in my life. I suppose you thought it took me a while to recuperate from all the nice pets I received from those girl scouts. That’s partly it. Smile My life in foster care has been great. I love my walks, and even the rain does not keep us from going out. My Mom is so good about that. A little rain doesn’t hurt anyone, does it?  I went to the vet last week and I was told my prostate has shrunk back down to normal size (YAY!) and I now weigh 50 pounds. Everyone seems to think that is a perfect weight for me.

I attached a picture of Waldo the cat. He and I live together. We don’t interact much but that is fine with both of us.

And now the nest news for last……..  I am going to meet a family this weekend. They are driving 5 hours one way to meet me. Foster Mom says I am definitely worth the drive. If they love me (HOW COULD THEY NOT?) I will live in Wisconsin. With a Mom and Dad that are retired. But get this…… I will winter in Florida. How many of you wish you could do that? I know Foster Mom wishes she could. I will keep you posted. I bet I will be trading in my Vikings and Twins hat for a Packer jersey and a Tampa Bay Rays hat. Paws crossed.

Wow. I am so sorry that It has taken me so long to give you an update on my birthday party. It was so much fun and as you can tell by the pictures I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it. These nice girl scouts made the Ragom rescue dogs all these nice soft blankets. And then brought us homemade treats and tennis balls to boot. What a blast. They doted on all of us and you know 4 pairs of hands rubbing your belly is much better than 1 pair. Girl Scouts for all of us furkids to enjoy.

Life in foster care is still good. I love to go out to my fenced in back yard and watch the world. I let out my first bark this week. Seems the neighbor is watching someone’s dog and I just knew that he was not a “regular” neighbor. I let out one bark (Why waste them?) just to let foster Mom know I was aware. She laughed and said at least we know now you can bark. She could have just asked me.  I love my daily walks and we have even gone up to the school and met some of the kids when they are walking home. I love to meet anyone and everyone.

Not much else to report. I am not the greatest eater so I guess FM is going to try some different foods. Will keep you posted.  I do love treats though!

Stay tuned.

Pampered and spoiled by all those Girl Scouts!  Exhausting!!!

Such a handsome birthday boy!!!

Happy Thursday everyone. Sir Boe Bear here.

Getting ready for the BIG event on Saturday. To prep for it, I even had to have a bath. Seriously FM brought the camera into the shower. Can you believe it? Nothing is sacred. But boy do those humans like it when you smell good. Rumor has it I have some gorgeous feathering on my back end. WHAT??? My coat is a little dry but with some good food that should improve in no time.

I see there will be lots of dogs at my birthday party. Yahoo.. Rumor has it the Girl Scouts will be visiting to bring us all gifts. I don’t mind sharing. I really am a nice boy. I weighed in at 46.8 pounds and that vet could not believe that I was 13 years old. He stated based on my overall appearance and my teeth, tops I could be 9. I have so much spry in my step, I don’t even feel like 9.

I hope to see you all there on Saturday. Look for the one all dressed up. That will be me, I’m sure. FM of course will be the one with the camera in her hand!

See you in a couple days.

SIR BOE BEAR

Wednesday, April 21, 2010

Sir Boe Bear here. Gotcha.. I knew if I started writing my own updates I would get people to take notice.Happy Birthday to me, I guess. FM says that since we do not know when my birthday is, we create our own. I am fine with that but does that mean you have to look like a rock star? Seriously she spent 20 minutes trying to get one picture. I did not cooperate in the least. Rub my belly lady. It’s hard to keep glasses on when you are lying on your side. I’m sure FD would have said there were better ways to spend that 20 minutes.

I really am a very, very nice boy. I cannot believe no one has inquired on me. I am a small boy in stature but very big in spirit. I get along with everyone and absolutely love car rides and going for walks. Actually, being outside ranks right up there too. NO ONE can believe I am 13 years old. People think more like 8 or 9. I feel like a pup so age means nothing to me. We really have nothing in writing saying I am 13 but the surrendering owner stated that was my age so that is all anyone has to go on.

I love to play fetch. You throw the ball, I will go get it but then you should come to me, give me a little belly rub and we can play again. Initially no one understood the rules. Hmm…. Now FM says there are different rules. No belly rubs till the game is over? What is up with that?  That’s ok. I’m adapting.

Come check me out for yourself. I will be at the event this Saturday at the Minneapolis PetSmart. Hopefully without the glasses, but you can bet FM has some other idea up her sleeve. I’m sure I will stand out as the birthday boy (in more ways than being the guy that is 13 and only looks 8!)
