Brandi 08-397

Profile

Sponsored by:Mary and Carl S.  This beauty is Miss Brandi.  She came to us as a stray from Pope County.  She is VERY thin and needs to put on weight.  She arrived Monday.  Tuesday we had her to the Vet.  She weighed 40 pounds!  She was weak when she came.  I had to help her into the car the first couple days.  Since then she has gained some strength and now runs and jumps into the car.  She LOVES car rides.

Brandi gets along well with our 2 resident dogs. And she loves people. She's really a happy dog. When she first came, she gobbled her food and didn't want to leave until it was all gone. Now she knows there's always plenty for her. She loves her treats too!!

Brandi is good about going in her kennel when we are gone for short periods of time. She is house broke. She likes to play ball. She was so excited to see our toy basket. I went and bought her a toy of her very own and she carries that all over. She seems to be so appreciative of everything we do for her. She's really a sweetheart and wants to please. She loves the outdoors but comes in when called. She loves to swim too!!

When we had her to the Vet, they said she had a heart murmur. She needs to not over exert herself and will revisit the vet for some more tests this week. We will write an update then.

Brandi really enjoyed the nice weather we had last week.  The Canadian Geese and ducks were back on the pond.  She loves that.  She actually ventured out on the pond - only getting her paws wet.  I'm sure it was plenty cold!!  Then she ran along side the pond and barked at the birds.  She had a great time !

Brandi continues to eat well but her weight is about the same.  She is slow when she gets up in the morning (me too) or up from a nap but once she's moving,  she's on the go!  She loves being outside when the weather is nice.  She runs and plays with our other 2 dogs.  When she's tired, she finds a good place and lays down.  But she still keeps a watch out.  She doesn't want to miss anything!!  And of course she loves to bask in the sun.  We're hoping for more of that sunny weather soon.

We'd like to again thank Brandi's sponsors Mary and Carl S.  We appreciate you !!

We just had Miss Brandi weighed again.  She is still at 43.5 pounds.  She eats well.  She likes her food and loves those treats.  But we just can't get any more weight on her.  I guess that little heart really has to work hard for her.

We got Miss Brandi a nice coat for those cold days outside.  She seems to really like it.  She waits to get that coat on before going out.  She loves it outside but we don't keep her out as much in the colder weather.  She is very active when out there but is tired when she comes in.  She rests for a while  and when she's done and the others are resting, she will dangle a toy in their face until they bite on it.  Then she plays tug with them.  She loves that!!

Brandi is an easy one to give a bath to.  She really loves the water.  Sometimes I put her in the shower to wash her up.  She loves the little kids too.  When the Grandkids come over,  she's right there.  She likes the size where she can look them right in the eye.  And she's very gentle with them.

Brandi saw a fox the other day and barked and wasn’t sure what to do.  She came to me and barked and ran back out toward it and came back again,  We sent our resident dog, Emo out after it and Brandi followed.   Of course the fox took off.  She's barked at the deer before but this was something new for her.

We really enjoy Miss Brandi.  She is such a gentle girl and loves to be loved.
