Brandy 07-651

Profile

Brandy is an 11 year old, spayed, PB, UTD, female Golden. She is good with people, kids, cats and most dogs. Brandy is completely house trained and is used to having the run of the house. Brandy had a vet checkup last week with mostly an all clear. She is Hypo-Thyroid so needs to be on meds, but these are fairly inexpensive and well tolerated.

Like most seniors Brandy has almost no bad habits. She loves her walks. We are working on not pulling and will soon introduce her to a Gentle Leader. Brandy loves the outdoors. She makes the best snow angels I’ve ever seen. Sometimes she just flops down in a pile and pushes her nose through the drifts with her hind legs much like a snow plow. It’s very funny to watch.

Don’t let Brandy’s age be a deterrent. She has lots of quality time left in her life. This is an exceptionally loving senior which would be a great addition to almost any household.

Hello all, Brandy here. I bet you guys all thought I got lost or something since it's been sooo long since I’ve posted anything. Well, with the Holidays and everything I’ve just been real busy.

The last few weeks have been both very good and not so good. First foster mom and dad’s human kids came home for a few days. One even brought along a guy called a fiance. Everyone seemed to think he was really special. I really liked him since he gave good pets. After Christmas we all loaded into the SUV and drove “over the hills and through the woods to grandparents house we go.” I was told that this was in Wisconsin. Anyway the trip was terrible. I guess I’m not the best rider since I was pretty nervous. It took nearly 9 hours which is way too long to be cooped up even with “pit stops.” But when we got there foster brother, Chopper, and I had a great time flopping in the snow and racing across the ice on the lake. Mom and dad did something called skiing so we got to run along without our leashes on. I also met the resident Big Fat Grey Squirrel. I don't think he liked me much since he just sat on a limb and cussed at me. I don't know squirrel language but I know it was cussing by the tone in his voice.

I’ve got some other good and bad news for you. The bad news is that I got really sick on New Years Eve and threw-up every two hours for almost the whole day. Foster mom and dad were very concerned when I started spewing blood so off we went to the emergency vet hospital. They poked and prodded, shaved my belly for x-rays and ultrasounds and tested my blood. In the end gave me some pills to help my stomach ache. The good news is they didn’t find anything all that wrong with me; no cancer, ulcers, blockages, etc. The Vet. kept asking foster dad if I had eaten anything I shouldn’t have. Guess I'm not sure what that might be but if it would get me in trouble I sure wasn’t going to tell. The Vet. also said I might have kidney or liver problems so I have to go back one more time to get my blood tested again. Anyway the best of all news is that even if they find that my organs don’t work as good as when I was a pup this only means I will have to take medication and watch my diet. Foster dad says that there isn’t anything about my insides or outsides that are unknown so if I get a forever family they will certainly know everything there is to know about me; no surprises.

Well I’ve got to say bye for now. I’m sending along a couple of pictures of me in Wisconsin so you can see how much fun I had. If you’re interested in adopting me, I hope I have a chance to meet you soon.
