Buck 08-274

Profile

Introducing......Buck, a 1.5 year-old Golden Retriever, weighs about 70 pounds right now and is a gorgeous, tall Golden boy.

I picked Buck (Junior) up from a shelter where his family surrendered him. The family left a note stating his name is actually Junior and his birthday was February 14, 2007. I opened the back of my truck which contained a kennel and he hopped right in. He didn't make a peep all the way home and I could tell he was used to riding, and actually he LOVES riding in the car.

Once home, he met our resident Golden without incident and played with my kids. He LOVES children as well. We proceeded to take an hour-long walk around the lake and he was very interested in the water. He obviously didn't know what a lake was but he wanted to get in after a few moments of backing up from the small waves coming toward him. He met my cats with no problem and just wanted to play with them. My two horses had no problem with him and the cows just watched him as I walked him around the yard.

After a bath and a grooming, it was nighty, nighty at my house. I did crate him for the first few nights but he's such a good boy that I don't have to anymore. He doesn't mind it though if you need to have him in one.

Since he's been at our house, he hasn't had a single accident inside, hasn't counter surfed or dumpster dived. He doesn't need a fence and wants to stay right by your side when outside or inside. He walks very nicely on a Gentle Leader and even went to 4-H doggie training with the kids as a spectator. He was perfect as usual!

He will be neutered this week and needs just a few pounds put on him and he'll be ready to search the RAGOM net for his new home. He is going to be a slightly bigger Golden, (not fat, just tall) probably around 75-80 pounds, but is so easy to handle and have around. There is nothing I would change about him or need to work on with him. He's a big cuddle bug and would love someone to jog, walk or run with on a daily basis. He is fine without another dog, fine without a fence, great with kids (probably not toddlers since he's bigger) and cats...what more could you ask for?! If you're looking for the "perfect" Golden that just wants you to throw a tennis ball,( oh yeah, he retrieves as well)!...this boy is for you!
