Welcome Buckley to Ragom! He's petite little senior guy :) He's an 8 1/2 year old GR mix, but you'd really never know it except for the gray around his nose. He prances when he's happy, he is so excited to see you when you come home or even when he comes in from outside. Buckley was surrendered by the family who owned him since he was a puppy because he didn't do well with their toddler (he did do fine with their first son). After knowing him for a week, I'd agree he'd do better in an adult only home or one with teenagers.

He's came in and met the two resident female dogs wonderfully. He gets along great with the girls, but doesn't play - I'm unsure yet if he doesn't know how or just has no interest. But he loves to be near people, right now he's your typical velcro dog. He'll lay at your feet while you work on the computer or watch tv - if you allow him to sit in your lap he's even happier :)

He's been to the vet and is UTD on all his shots and is already neutered. He is overweight (but then he's not alone............) - he currently weighs 49 pounds and the vet said his ideal weight is 40 pounds. We'll move him to a low calorie dog food and continue the walks - he walks great on a leash! He gets so excited when he sees the leash.

He has all the things that makes adopting an adult/senior dog so wonderful - completely housetrained (no accidents at all!), doesn't chew anything he shouldn't, no destructive tendencies at all, thoroughly enjoys walks but if you miss a day he's not going to bounce off the walls, knows basic commands (sit, stay and come) and he's just so thrilled with any attention you give him.

Buckley has settled into our routines quickly and is getting more comfortable every day. He has a worried look that is showing up less often, I feel bad when I see it - he gets it when you bend down to pet him, but then immediately goes into adoration mode when you touch him and he realizes you're going to give him some loving.

I think Buckley is going to make someone a wonderful companion, he's a sweetie who just wants his own someone to love :)

Buckley continues to do well at my house, he hasn't had an accident or chewed on anything he shouldn't. He's a perfect gentleman :)

He still isn't playing with the resident dogs, but they lay together and run around the backyard as a pack. It's hilarious to see the three of them lined up, sitting for a treat - big, medium and small :)

Buckley really loves people, he gets so excited whenever he meets people - whether for the first time or the 80th time. But the thing that gets him really riled up are walks - when you pick up his leash he literally dances around in circles - so excited! He's a great walker, doesn't pull - he's on a flat collar with a flexi-leash, so he goes about 10 feet in front of you and sniffs away. He truly loves his walks!

Buckley continues to do well in my home, he gets more comfortable with each passing day. His worried looks come less often - Yeah! He's an easy dog to love :) He adores any attention you're willing to give him, he has the GR paw that will reach up when you stop asking for more. As you can tell from the new pictures he really is a smiler :)

He now knows he needs to sit before receiving his treats or food bowl. He still loves walks, although I've hurt my foot so there haven't been many lately - and Buckley is just fine without them. Running around the yard with the resident girls is just fine for him. He wouldn't need another dog in his forever home, I actually think he'd prefer being the only dog so he can get all your attention.

He's a sweetheart who has loved everyone he's met, men, women and teenagers. We haven't met any young children, so no updates on that point. He gets so excited when he meets new people or comes in from outside - he prances around and "talks" to you. It's so cute, he'll definitely make you feel wanted!

Buckley would love to find a forever home where he can truly get comfortable - he'll show you every day how much he appreciates you. He's a sweetheart who deserves the Golden Life, are you the lucky person to give him one?
