Buddy arrived early Saturday evening after a long day of transport. He is a two-year-old neutered black Golden Doodle. He is so skinny. He came from a neglect situation so he was shaved short to get rid of mats. He met my dogs easily. After surveying the yard he went to the back door as if he's lived here his entire life. He quickly met the cat...no issues there. He checked out the main floor of the house and found the toy box. Because we were told he was an outside dog, I have had him tethered to me unless he's been crated. He has shown no desire to potty in the house and he is beginning to earn more freedom. Last night he slept in a crate and after a couple initial yelps of revolt, he settled right down and slept all night.

He is so very cute! He also seems to have a great personality and no real issues. He looks like a standard poodle but he has a longer tail. I also don't think his curls are as tight as the standard poodles I know. He has what is known in the poodle world as a "puppy cut" meaning he has no poofs, but is cut smooth to the skin all over. His head is a bit fluffier. He has poodle ears and I believe will need to have the hair plucked from inside like the poodles need. I would estimate his weight around 45 pounds, but I think he should weigh more like 55 pounds....he is thin!

So far, his only issue is an extreme interest in food. He didn't quite understand last night that the other dogs get their own bowls and there is no sharing...this morning he did much better. He also is prone to check out the counter tops but that isn't a new issue here and he won't be finding any treasures on top of our counters. He does not resource guard his bones or toys and readily lets both the other dogs and the humans take bones/toys from him....so far, we haven't tried to touch his food and I'm sure any issues he may have will go away once he realizes he will be fed regularly.
