Buddy 09-288

We welcomed Buddy into our home today.  He is a real heart throb.  He has long legs, a beautiful tail and confident stance.  He is very sweet,  affectionate and intelligent.  He listens well and has great recall.  He greeted the resident dogs with ease.  We went for our usual introductory walk.  He was right at my side all the way.

Buddy doesn’t appear too excited about toys or rawhides yet.  At this point he appears relatively mellow.  He does his business outside, so he is either housetrained or a quick study.   He rides like a charm in our SUV.  He even rides in the back and waits to be called out after I open the door.  Now if I could get the resident dogs to do that.  Buddy also doesn’t mind noise.  FD was adamant about playing a DVD concert very loud, and it didn’t faze Buddy.  I, however, did not appreciate it.

Buddy is neutered and UTD on his shots.  He does have a thinner coat between his shoulders due to a healing hot spot.  This should turn into a thick coat to match the rest of him with proper nutrition and grooming.  He is thin, so he may have been roughing it for a while.

I think Buddy would excel in a home where he was the only dog, so he could soak up all the love and attention he has been missing.  It is evident that he will be a great walking/running partner.  It is also evident that he will be a very loyal family companion.  I can’t wait to see this special boy flourish with his forever family.

Buddy has found his forever family.  He will never have to worry about his next meal or a safe place to sleep.  He now has a great dad to take him running, a fabulous mom to shower him with affection and three awesome human siblings to give him lots of love and attention.

Thank you O family for making our wish for a wonderful life for wonderful Buddy come true!

Have a great life Buddy!

Buddy continues to be very mellow in our home.  He loves to chase the squirrels in our backyard.  He is either at my side for some attention or sitting on watch for the next squirrel to chase.  This may indicate that he wouldn’t be the best candidate for a home with cats.  Buddy likes walks.  He has not counter surfed.  He enjoys human attention, but will lay on his own if we are busy.  He crates easily.  He rides nicely.  He loves to be brushed.  He does not get on our furniture.  He is protective of his food with our resident dogs.  Hopefully, this will subside once he realizes that he will never have to go without food again.   He does allow me to take away his food and hand feed him without any problems.   Buddy plays nicely with our dogs when they are outside, but would prefer to be the only animal in his forever home.
