Buddy 13-198

Profile

Meet Buddy a 6 year old golden retriever. I call him dream boy but he answers to the many nick names I have already given him. He is a big boy weighing in at 75 pounds. He needs to lose a minimum of 5 pounds, preferably 7-10. He checked out great at the vet. Heartworm negative (yay) and is now UTD. Today he spent the morning at the groomer getting a good brush out and bath. He smells so good and looks so incredibly handsome. Don’t you agree?

While I have only had him 2 days I can tell you he is good with kids, cats and other dogs. He does however try to show a little dominance with males as far as humping goes. So I think it best that he not live with a male dog. He is quite the Velcro dog, loves to be near you and will only jump on furniture when invited. He sleeps on the floor next to my bed. He has not been left alone yet but I am told he has done fine in the past. He has not settled into a routine of eating yet so I am hoping that will come soon. I will be assessing what he needs in his forever home over the next couple days so if you are interested in meeting this dreamboat please let placement know. I doubt he will be with us long.

Mr Buddy you stole my heart. You came in here and acted like you had lived here forever. I knew it was in your best interest to find you that great home. And that I did! You will now live with a Mom and a Dad (who is semi retired) and go to training to be a therapy dog. You will be perfect in that role. I miss you terribly but am grateful your new Dad is good about keeping me updated. Hugs and kisses to you Big Guy! Remember its ok to have people kiss on you!

Well Buddy has been very busy. I have come to learn that he is the PERFECT dog in every way. He is a neat drinker and eater, does not beg for food, will not even remind you if you forget to feed him. (oops!) He sleeps on the floor next to the bed but when I invite him up in the morning after foster Dad gets up he is quick to come up and snuggle for a bit. He rides great in the car, gets along with all dogs, cats, and he even met a pot bellied pig at the groomer. The pig was snarky but Buddy just moved on. His favorite treat is ice cubes and he wiggles right out of his fur when you open the freezer.

He rarely barks and walks like a dream on a leash.

He truly is a gem. People should be lined up to meet this sweet boy.
