Buddy wanted to say thanks to all who have helped him transition to his furever home. Those thanks start with his surrendering family who made the tough decision to let him go so he could find a fuller life.
It extends to the whole RAGOM organization that helped in the step-by-step process of safely seeking a new adventure.
And finally, it begins anew with Phil and Jeanne’s family in a wonderful home with lots of love and belly scratches!

Say hello to Buddy! He is an amazing, loving, gentle giant who needed to be surrendered because he was not getting enough attention. As noted by his surrendering family and observed since entering our home, he soaks up attention and care. Do you want to brush me? Hold my paw? Rub my ear or scratch my head? Yes! Yes! Yes! PLEASE!
Buddy is house trained and has had no accidents since arrival. He lets us know that he would like to go out by pacing and whining, and when we get up he will try to lead us to the door.
We don’t have a fence, and are not requiring one for him, but he is always on a leash or a lead when he is outdoors with us. Buddy walks well on leash with our pack: some pulling at times, but he usually responds to verbal cues to walk gently.
He knows how to sit, lie down, come and is learning manners about waiting for the food dish to be put down, or waiting to be told it is time to go through a door frame. These new lessons are being learned by watching the resident dogs, but ongoing practice would be very helpful.
Speaking of his furry housemates, Buddy desperately wants to play and interact with our male and female family dogs, to the point that initially he didn’t always listen when they said “Give me a break” or “Give me some space.” He just doesn’t know why everyone wouldn’t want to be his best playmate. But as they get to know each other, Buddy is learning these lessons by watching their reactions.
Obedience training would be a great addition to his life and Buddy would love the focus on him and praise for doing well. He responds to treats, taking them gently from your hand, but he really wants praise or attention.
Buddy lived with two teenagers in his previous home. We’ll provide a recommendation regarding younger children once we've had an opportunity to observe Buddy’s interaction with them.
Buddy is a big Teddy Bear who will lie quietly at your feet, but once you move, he wants to make sure he is included. He is going to be a great addition to someone’s family life.
