Buddy C 07-398

Profile

Buddy C came back to Ragom because his owner is terminally ill and unable to care for him. He is now nine-years-old. He weighs 89 pounds which is the perfect weight for him. In his past, he lived with several kids and I have no doubt he would be fine with kids now too. He does well with other dogs, ignores cats....is all around just a super, super dog!! He could also live as an only dog as he has successfully done that for the past two years. He came from his temporary foster last night and after some initial drooling, he settled in perfectly. We had a quiet evening and we slept all night, I got up once to find him and he was sleeping on the blanket his temporary foster mom had made for him. This morning we groomed dogs...he didn't need much, I brushed him, tried to rake him but not much came out, so just brushed him a lot. I also trimmed his feet up a little, but his temp foster did a nice job getting him ready for his foster home. Thank you Ellie!

He is up-to-date on his shots and microchipped, but he may need some dental work. He also has arthritis in his knees and we need to talk to the vet about the best treatment for that. Once those details are addressed, he will be ready for adoption. He seems to move just fine and doesn't seem like the arthritis bothers him, at least not now.

He is absolutely regal. He looks more collie than golden sometimes and other times he looks more golden than collie. He definitely has the high pitched collie bark. He doesn't seem to bark much....but when the camera is pointed in his direction, he becomes very talkative. So far, none of the pictures I've seen or taken have done him justice. Take my word for it, he is just simply GORGEOUS!!

If you are looking for a regal gentleman to move-in and fit-in, contact your placement adviser and ask to meet Buddy C.

Buddy is perfect. He has been here for several days and has proven himself to be the best dog. He had to stay home for a full 8-hour work day today and all went well. He gets along with all the dogs he's met here. He ignores the cat, so that little mystery about him has been solved. He loves attention and to be talked to. As I type this, he's right by my feet. He is a ready-made companion. He is ready to be adopted.

He has a couple of quirks....one of which he barks when I aim a camera at him....so it's really hard to get a good photo of him. You'll have to take my word for it that he is simply GORGEOUS!! He also is sort of the "fun police"....when my other dogs are playing, he barks then too. He rarely barks otherwise.

He also likes food. He eats well and definitely knows when the treats come out. He is also highly food motivated, so if he's being stubborn, a treat will get him to do exactly what you want. I think he may have been given people food in a previous home as he is very interested when people food is getting prepared. So far, no counter-surfing...and he's definitely tall enough to help himself if he wanted to.

He's a ready-made companion...email your placement adviser if you want to learn more.
