Meet Buff, this gorgeous, almost two year old Golden Retriever seeking a new life. Buff arrived yesterday from an Animal Hospital in Iowa after her former owner relinquished her. We have few details from the previous owner except that she spent too much time in her outdoor kennel and has shown no aggression towards humans. She appears to have been well cared for as she is spayed and has a beautiful, silky coat. She is currently being treated for an ear infection and we estimate that she weighs about 75 lbs.
With ease, Buff joined our family consisting of my husband, our 12 and 7 year old boys, myself and our 2 resident dogs, ages 1 and 2. She has a calm demeanor for such a young dog, loves attention from humans first, dogs second, which leads me to believe that she would do well in a household with or without other dogs. Her former owner indicated that she was not housetrained however she has had no accidents since she arrived here and navigates herself around the house quite well. She knows how to sit and shake a paw and is starting to learn about doggy toys. She enjoys spending time in our fenced yard with the other dogs, exploring the many different scents and playing with all the neighborhood kids. When she is on her leash, she pulls a bit but with some training I am confident she will overcome this. Since we don’t have a cat, we are uncertain how she would react.
As you may see from the picture below, she welcomed a good night's sleep after a day of adventures. More to come on this gorgeous girl once we get to know her better!
