Carly 09-509

Profile

Carly, a cream colored female golden mix, arrived late Saturday evening after a long transport from South Dakota. She is one of six goldens born September 27th, 2009, after an accidental mating.

Carly immediately was in the bathtub to evaluate her water behaviors and to get her cleaned up after transport. Carly loved the tub and was not stressed at all. Like many goldens she has a love for water. Carly spent most of the remaining evening and early morning playing with the 7 teenagers here for a sleep over. She socialized well with everyone.

After a good night sleep in her dog crate, Carly was busy exploring our house and our other 2 Goldens. Carly is a greeter, a climber, an explorer and chaser.

Right after feeding and a visit outside she began running after our 85 pound female Keefer. Her behavior is wonderful and she is very playful and confident. Carly demonstrates classic Golden puppy behaviors. At 10 weeks she is even playing tug-of-war with a Golden 10 times her size.

Her first vet visit is next week. Carly has been wormed, had bortadella and distemper vaccinations.

She is a sweet girl and we will update the page frequently for all of you who will become fast fans of Carly :) Her first movie link will be posted shortly.

A HUGE special thanks to all who made Carly's transport occur and the other fosters taking her siblings! Great job RAGOM.

Hi everyone.  Just wanted to let you know I met my new family today. The R family is so nice and they are going to take such good care of me. They brought along my new brother Dakota. He liked me a lot. His tail wouldn't stop wagging. I think we are going to have a lot of fun out in all this snow that we just got. Before I left my foster family let me play out on the deck with my foster sisters and snapped these last couple of photos of me. Thanks to RAGOM and to my foster family for all your help in finding me my forever family. Wishes do come true :)

Merry Christmas everyone.  Carly had a great holiday.  She got to travel to Iowa for an early celebration and she did great on our 5 hour drive.  She slept most of the way and only needed one potty break!!  She was really good at Grandma's house, NO ACCIDENTS :)  We surprised Grandma with her and Carly came through for us!  How could you not love that face.

Carly continues to grow and learn new things every day.  She loves playing in the snow with her two foster sisters. We had to make paths in the snow because we got too much for those little legs.  They chase each other all around and roll in the snow.  She is becoming more comfortable with our larger dogs.  No problems getting in there and biting them now.  They are being very tolerant of her.

Potty training is hit and miss.  She goes to the door which is great, but sometimes we are not fast enough, especially when she goes every 15 minutes sometimes!  She is learning and the treats are really helping.  It won't take too long and she'll have it down.  She loves playing pull toy, ball and wrestling with anyone who will wrestle.  She also fits in a good nap now and then.  She sleeps on our bed all night and if she does need to go potty will whine and we let her out.  She does not like her crate very much, but when we need a break and can't keep our eyes on her we do use it.  She settles down after a few minutes of barking.

If you are looking for a sweet, cuddly, lover, Carly is your dog.  She would be a great pet for any type of family, dogs or no dogs, kids or no kids.  She loves having attention.  Here are a few pictures of her during the holidays.

Love my orange ball! Love to chase it with my sisters.

Climbed on the foot rest for a nap by the tree.

Chillin by the Christmas tree before my nap.

Santa left me a gift, must want me to fly with him next year!

Just a quick update on Carly.

She is acting just like any normal golden puppy. Busy, into everything, going potty ALL the time!  She is getting lots of love from everyone.  The teenagers of the house love her to death and are taking it all in because I'm sure we won't have Carly here for long.  She is so cute and cuddly. As you can see from the pictures she loves her pillow and all her toys.  She is also taking a time out with our 2 year old Golden Argo.  She wants to play with both of her foster sisters, they just don't know quite what to make of her.

When they all go out to potty there is lots of chasing and playing in the snow going on. She is sleeping in her crate quite well at night.  She is having accidents in her crate, but that is to be expected.  We just get lots of baths and she loves the water!!

All for now, keep watching though :)
