It is with the greatest sadness I inform you that our beloved Casey (08-322) has been helped across the Rainbow Bridge. Casey went from being his usual “Clown Prince” on Sunday to coughing up blood on Monday, and was euthanized in the early morning hours of Tuesday. It was very fast.
We went to great lengths to determine the cause of the illness. Xrays revealed either lung cancer or Blastomycosis. We were waiting for test results, hoping it was Blastomycosis so we could treat the problem. It was just not to be. We made the decision to euthanize him to end any suffering. It was a very difficult decision and we are all grieving, including our other dog Dolly (yes, she’s also a Rescue). We got the test results back late yesterday and it was negative for Blastomycosis, so our decision to euthanize and our timing were correct. We want to thank RAGOM for bringing Casey into our lives. We want to thank the Rassmussen family for making the decision to surrender Casey and for letting us adopt him. Casey was very much loved and will be missed terribly. We wanted to share with you just who Casey was and what made him so special... Thanks again RAGOM, we wouldn't have missed this for the world, Mick and Sandy A. |
