Casey (Taz 09-074)

Profile

My name is Taz although I don't really know it yet. Foster Mom says I am a 'mix' and I'm not sure what that means either except she says I am adorable with this really lovely voice and it's always followed by kisses so I KNOW it's a good thing. Who cares about DNA anyway when you are as cute as me?? So--about me: I'm about 10 weeks old and I came to RAGOM with my two brothers Pazataz (huh?) 09 075 and Cappucino 09 073 from a shelter. We were all found beside a road and nobody wanted us till RAGOM came along and saved us!

I am living with my brother Paz and boy do we have fun! We wrestle and run and play tug until we drop and then we sleep. Sleep, eat, play! That's what it is all about for us puppies. Oh yeah--we have a itchy skin infection. It drives me crazy! I have to take a pill for it and tomorrow I will go to the vet again to get it checked out. Foster mom says it is nothing to worry about but she isn't the one scratching!

I will write again in a day or two but if you would like to write back to me, we can be pals! You can write to me via placementatragom [dot] org.

Did you hear? I'm meeting a family tomorrow that might want me for their very own! Since I am SOOOO cute and soooo smart, I know they will fall in love with me. Foster mom says that's why they make puppies cute. My brother Paz met a family too today. My paws are crossed for him too.

Paz and I have so much fun together! We love to play outside especially when it is snowing, like today. We are not nearly as itchy since we got our medicine for the mange. One more dose next week and we will be all clear.

Sometimes I just want to snuggle so I go over to Foster Mom and sit down and look up at her with my sad eyes. It works every time!! I get to take a little snooze in her arms. Today, we both took on nap snuggled on the couch. I kept FM warm. I still cry a little when I first go in my crate. But it's really only for a minute and then you won't hear a peep out of me until it's time to get up. See, I'm a very good boy so I am really keeping my paws crossed that I like this family! Cross your paws too!

Taz is so funny! He plays 'come and catch me' with his brother around the lilac bush. He can see Paz and he starts one way and then when Paz starts to come around that way, he goes the other way. It's so funny to watch! He is a typical happy puppy. Into everything and chewing on whatever he can find--electrical cords, papers, furniture. So I have to keep a close eye on him to keep him safe.

I have been exposing him to new things everyday. Things that he will experience throughout his life--like vaccuum cleaners, hammers, toenail clippers, someone pulling his tail (gently), touching his paws, brushing his teeth. He is a little bit shy of loud noises like the hammer but came to explore the vaccum cleaner.

He is very snuggly and comes up to me for love. He has learned already that he needs to have his butt on the floor and not jump before he gets picked up. It's so hard to resisit that sweet face when he is sitting there looking up at me! He is crated at night with his brother and cries for a few minutes before falling asleep. Then there is only an occassinal whimper through the night. He is keeping his crate clean even when I am away during the day for a few hours. Good boy!

Taz and his siblings are all suffering from what is probably mange. They have been treated and will get another dose in two weeks. But they are still pretty itchy. The vet says the those symptoms should subside by this weekend. Otherwise Taz is very healthy and currently weights 13.5 pounds. He is a very good eater and right now I am pretty much free feeding them through the day. Check back later to read more about Taz's adventures!
