Cassie finally arrived in Cedar Falls Iowa after a long trip from South Dakota. Cassie has a rather sad story, but has sure begun her new life with her chin up! She was abused in her past, which is why the top of her head is shaved. Cassie has made a great recovery and gets a long well with cats and people. She has done well with the other two dogs here for the most part. The normal first meeting stuff went well with minimal growling. Had to determine the pecking order! She is house trained and LOVES LOVES LOVES to walk. She is not the best on a leash but with a gentle leader she is a dream. She is a little on the heavy side, so a home who loves to walk daily would be ideal for her. She also loves to play ball. We have played ball with her outside a bit. I am not sure that she has ever seen one before to be honest. She has one of the silliest little excitement indicators. Her ears perk up and she licks her lips super fast! She does it for toys or if you have food, but if you sit down to eat she does not beg. We are working with her on dropping the ball when we play and she is coming around. She is on the smaller side stature wise. She is by no means going to be a tall golden and looks like a weight of about 45 pounds will be about right for her. By no means does her small size means she lacks in personality! She is quite the ham!
Attached are a few pictures from the car ride home - she was loving on me all the way. There are also a few of her from the vet clinic in South Dakota. More to come in the next few days. We will visit the vet tomorrow and post an update!
