3/26/07: Hi. My name is Cecelia. I just came from a puppy mill in North Dakota to a place in Kasson, MN . I was born June 25, 2004. I am very scared. The place I went to has a dog that seems to like me. I climbed out of my crate to meet her after she leaned in to say hello. Everything is very scary and I don’t know what is going to happen. My friend, the one I was telling you about, has been showing me a few things. She (and my foster mom) coaxed me into the backyard with this big thing around my neck. I guess it’s called a slip collar and I don’t like it. I can’t get out of it and I keep stepping on it when I walk. I finally started carrying it around in my mouth so I could walk around without tripping. I found the best spot in the yard - I found out it was my friend’s favorite spot too, but she let me have it - I like her. She does this weird thing where she chases a ball my foster mom throws. I am very interested in that and have taken a few of the balls to my favorite spot and laid on them, just in case I might want them later. I was able to lay out in the yard most of the day soaking up the sun. My foster mom would be petting my friend and I had to check out what the deal was so I snuck over and let her pet me, too. I liked it, but I kept my tail between my legs and my body couldn’t relax, but later I came back for more! Later that night, when it was time for bed, my foster mom took off my collar and I decided to get rid of that thing once and for all! I put it in my friend's kennel - she can have it! I slept through the night okay, didn’t make any noise, and this morning when my foster mom was getting ready for work, I went around the house and grabbed whatever I could find, stuffed things, dog toys and shoes and piled them in my kennel. I might want those later, too. My foster mom caught me and only left me with a few of the dog toys. Oh well. They also have this neat thing here, they call it a television and I sure do like to watch it! I have a blanket that I carry around - I don’t know where to put it yet, but it might have to go to that room with the television! More later.
