Cedar 06-002

Profile

1/9/06: Cedar has arrived and she is a complete sweetheart! She is approximately 1 year old and came to us as a stray. Cedar is in excellent health. She is all up-to-date now, including a microchip. However, she will need a vaccine booster in 2-3 weeks. She appears to have a scar from being spayed. She is a nice medium gold, but she is not a purebred (very close though - but she has a slightly longer snout and a little white mark on her chest). She is also small at 46 pounds, which is her ideal weight according to the vet. Cedar has had some training and knows sit and fetch. She did get car sick on the ride to the vet, but she was in a kennel and couldn't see out the window. She did just fine on the quick ride from the vet riding in the back seat and then again as she was transported to us. The volunteer who took her to the vet and transported her to us was kind enough to give her a bath so now she smells good too! We?ve only had her for a few short hours, but this dog appears to be a real gem! If you are interested in meeting her please email placementatragom [dot] org (hurry, before I decide to keep her!).

P.S. She wasn?t very photogenic today so we?ll try again tomorrow!

Cedar is staying with us for the weekend while his foster family is out of town. She and our Golden are very well matched in terms of size and they are both 1 year old. They are great playmates with seemingly endless energy. As a result, our house and yard have been converted into Wild Kingdom. Have you ever seen two bucks fighting up on their hind legs? These two love to do their best impersonation of this in their playing. Cedar is a love bug and we are enjoying her weekend visit. I just wanted to send along a couple of new photos...
