Charlie 08-250

Profile

Wee, Boy!! (No pun intended.) I am sure glad I got out of Waterloo today before the tornado came along. I am safe and sound in Cedar Rapids, getting used to my foster family. The dogs are OK, I have not met all four cats yet, but the humans will take awhile before I am able to train them totally. They did tell me what a handsome dog I am with a nice medium/dark coat and my weight is just right for a younger dog.

I already taught them how to give me my supper and take me for a walk. I sure surprised foster dad once he put the Gentle Leader on me. He said I got an "A" for the first time I ever had one on, but I will negotiate with him tonight (after I get to know him better) for just a little better grade from him. If that doesn't work, I think I will try to surprise him tomorrow when we go out. If I automatically sit when he stops, he says I get an A+.

Speaking about tomorrow, hope that everyone has an enjoyable Memorial Day. Don't forget to fly your flag!

Speaking of holidays, do you know what soon-to-be-famous dog was born on the 4th of July? Give up? I bet you never thought it was me, Charlie. I am hoping to be with my forever family to celebrate my first birthday.

Charlie has the idea that "what's yours is mine and what's mine is mine" and that doesn't fly at this foster home!! He is learning to share and eat only his food. Charlie is doing great on walks and loves to run in the backyard.

Charlie would do best in a home where he is the only dog and would be good with kids of any age. He likes exercise and loves to play. We think that in his past he did not have enough food and eats faster than any dog we have ever seen!! He is reacting well to FD's training... Charlie has someone coming south to meet him next weekend....
