** WAITING LIST **

November 28, 2009:

Hi everyone! My name is Charlie. I'm from a farm outside LaCrosse, Wisconsin, and I'm super excited to be here in the big city! There are so many new smells, new sights, and new noises. But where are the cows? I'll keep looking.

As you've probably seen from my pictures, I'm a red golden, but I'm not super-red. I just had my 3rd birthday! My foster parents say I'm super sweet; I love cuddles and getting pats, and I'm not shy about letting you know I want more. I've never met a human I didn't like. I get along really really well with my foster brother, a rambunctious eight month old golden, but it took me a little while. I haven't met too many dogs in my life, and I'm not quite sure how to be a social dog yet. I'm working on it though, and I like meeting new dogs. I haven't met any cats yet.

I know my name, I come when called, and I know how to sit. If you catch me when I'm tired, I know how to lay down too. I've been to the lake and love it there. The fosters promised me we could go back when it gets a little bit warmer. I do really well when my foster parents bathe me. I just lay right down in the bathtub.

I've recently been to the vet and given a clean bill of health, but the doc seems to think I should lose a little bit of weight. To help me lose weight, my foster parents have switched me over to a raw dog food. It took some getting used to--I guess I just really like dog food. I lived outside before, so I haven't really acquired a taste for people food. My foster brother really likes people food, though, so I'm open to trying it. So far I like turkey, but not apples or yogurt.

My parents have been walking around with the camera, so check back soon for more photos.
