Miss Ellie Mae: What more does one need to say about her? Her looks say it all.

For a puppy that just turned 10 weeks old on May 17, she is a brute. Ellie Mae and her little brother Pickles were fortunate enough to be born into RAGOM's care where they have been learning to play and do puppy things that will be beneficial when she turns into a dog.

Ellie Mae stayed ahead of her brother in the growth department for the first 9 weeks, but most of her appearance came from her fluffy fur. This little girl has a mind of her own and she'll let you know. Mainly, she'll let you know when she doesn't want to go somewhere. 

Ellie Mae is doing well on a leash when she gets moving. The faster you walk, the better she does. The thing with this little girl is sometimes she forgets she wants to go for a walk and she sits down and won't budge until you get down to her level and make it her idea to start moving again. She loves to play with the other dogs on walks and if she's not playing, she's sniffing the ground for anything fun to pick up.  

There are a couple of things that little Ellie absolutely loves: digging in the dirt and playing in the water. She can fit half of her body in the water bucket but would love to get her hind end in, too. She enjoys drinking from the end of the garden hose and splashing in the sprinkler. She's not real sure what to think of the lake yet, but it is only a matter of time before she figures it out.

Ellie Mae is treat-motivated and learning to sit and come using the "sit" and "here" commands. She is doing well on a leash after she gets moving and she sleeps best if she goes for a late evening walk. She currently goes for 1.3 miles in the morning and a mile in the evening. If she has to go on a potty break while out for a walk, she will pull you into the weeds. She must be bashful because she will put up a fuss to get into the weeds if you are not paying attention.

Ellie Mae currently lives with two cats (that don't typically run from her), her mom, her brother, another Golden Retriever, and three horses. She's not real sure what to think of the horses, but has no fear of them. She gets along well with the few dog friends she has met outside of her foster family, but does play a little rough.
