Chase 08-290

Profile

Chase has been with us for about a week and a half. He is about the sweetest little thing anyone could imagine!

A few things about Chase- he loves to play with our other foster dog. The two of them can play all day long and love each other's company. In his forever home, I would recommend another dog to keep him company and to help run off his energy.

Chase sleeps in a crate and will go right in when I toss a treat in for him. The first night he cried a little, but now he goes right in without hesitation. He wakes up when the sun comes up, so he would make a great alarm clock!

He runs very well on a leash, he doesn't pull at all. He doesn't particularly care for the Gentle Leader, but after struggling for a bit he gets used to it. Because he is a little dog (40lbs) he is very easy to handle.

We haven't formally introduced Chase to our cats, although that is more due to our cats being nervous than it is about Chase. He has seen them through the doggy gate, and has sniffed and barked, but he has never growled or snarled. I think if we properly introduced them he would be fine. He is very curious though.

He tends to jump up a bit when he gets excited. We're working on correcting this. He does very well sitting for treats and laying down to let us know he wants to come in from the backyard, but a little manners training wouldn't hurt. He nips a bit too, but that is usually when I try to get in between him and our other foster.

All in all he is a great dog!

Hi-

Greetings from Chase!

Chase has made himself completely at home in his foster home. He has been such a joy to have around! If I had to describe Chase with one word, it would have to be sweet! Chase is the sweetest dog you will ever meet. Even though he has a lot of energy and needs to play it off daily, when he has had plenty of exercise, he is the sweetest thing ever.

Chase took a trip to the lake with us for Independence Day and had a great time playing in the water, and wrestling around with Toby 07-658. But his favorite thing was getting to sleep in bed with foster mom and foster dad. At home Chase sleeps in his crate because the cats get to sleep in bed, but last weekend Chase was so happy. He slept in between us all night and woke us up in the morning to several kisses. I am sure he would like nothing more than to do that every night!

He often looks to his foster brother, Toby 07-658, to determine how to react to situations. Today we were at the vet and there was a little dog checking out while we were waiting. Chase didn't seem to be bothered at all until Toby started whimpering a little. Chase would look over to Toby and then looked back at the little dog and start whimpering too. It was so cute. He really enjoys Toby's company and the two of them are really a great pair!

I think Chase would be very easy to handle as a single dog as long as he got some exercise each day. We haven't had any issues with him in the house at all. The only complaint I have at all is that the two dogs are playing constantly to the point that there are tug toys everywhere!

Chase was groomed for the holiday. We captured some adorable pictures of the dogs with their patriotic bandanas on.

As far as a forever home for Chase, I think he would do very well in a single or a multi-dog family. I would like to see him have a fenced yard so he can run around. He would also need someone who will make sure he gets enough exercise. Other than that, he is so sweet, he needs someone who will give him love in return.
