Checotah is a 4 year old male golden retriever that has been surrendered through no fault of his own. It was a very difficult decision for his family but due to the unfortunate loss of their home Checotah made it into our care & into our hearts.
Checotah was named after the city he was born in but is more commonly known as JoJo...& he answers to both! Smart boy. What can I say...he is a light to medium golden color with a lanky build, weighing at at 62 lbs. He is now up to date on all vaccines & microchipped, is on meds for an ear infection, & needs to be neutered yet (ouch!). He also has a history of seizures (sounds like 3 or 4 in his lifetime so far), & has some storm anxiety (likes to be close to you or will hide if possible too). JoJo is also ball obsessed....he LOVES balls, doesn't matter if it's tennis, football or even basketball, he will chase, retrieve & just plain carry them around. And did I mention that he is FAST! Checotah gets along great with our 3 goldens, although he is more interested in his people or his balls than he is with the other dogs. He also gets along great with the cat & pretty much ignores the hamsters. He loves to hang out with the kids, especially if it involves playing ball or swimming, or snuggling on the bed at night.
Unfortunately though Checotah is not available for adoption. One of the benefits of fostering these wonderful dogs is we get to help them find their forever home...& Checotah already did...with US!!
