Cheeto 09-230

Profile

I would like to welcome the newest member of the RAGOM family, Cheeto.  He is 3-years-old, unneutered and UTD on his vaccinations, however we didn't get any records from the SO so we will get him into the vet to get all his vaccinations done, get him microchipped and neutered.  He is a smaller golden and we'll know his weight after he goes to the vet.  He is a very gorgeous red boy who came from a loving home where the owner was very sad to see him go, but financial reasons made it hard for the SO to keep Cheeto.

Cheeto was dropped off by 2 volunteers (thanks girls) and met the 2 resident dogs and my other foster Hatch (09 196) with little ceremony.  He hasn't really noticed the cat yet so we don't know how he'll do with cats- he didn't have any exposure from his original home.  He is reportedly good with kids but it is unlikely he'll be kid tested while living here.

Cheeto lived in a heated kennel and kept it clean and he is reportedly house trained.  We'll know more about this in the coming days but he's not marked or had any accidents thus far.  He lived on a farm so is used to being able to run around so he will likely need to find an active family to keep him out of trouble - not that he would get into trouble but he likely needs lots of exercise.  He also had access to a pond and LOVES to go swimming!

Cheeto went on a walk with FM and the resident dogs today and did amazing!  I've never had a dog come in and right away walk so perfectly on a leash.  He was pretty nervous about the cars- especially the louder ones, was scared of bikes but wanted to say hi to the people we walked by.

He knows some of the basic commands (sit, down, shake) and really just wants to please everyone.  He loves giving kisses.  Obviously since he just arrived, I don't know exactly what he will need in his furever home but my first impressions say that he doesn't need a fence, can be an only dog or can live with another one, kids are OK and I'll see how he does with cats in the next couple days, but I cannot imagine they would be a problem.

Cheeto is going to be the perfect companion for any family!  I'm sure he will be snatched up quickly!  Please contact your placement advisor if you'd like to meet him!
