Chelsey (Cheddar 10-334)

Profile

Cheddar arrived at her foster home a week ago on Saturday and fit in with our pack immediately. Her best buddy was our Charlie Brown from the git go. They play until they are too tired to play anymore. Cheddar is a very long and tall 10 month old Golden Retriever/Husky mix. It is easy to see the Husky in her, but her color is definitely Golden. We haven't been to the vet yet for a checkup due to the holiday, but I think that she weighs about 70 pounds right now. She is on the thin side and I think that is because she is a puppy and growing so fast. She is the most relaxed when she is in the living room with all of the other dogs. She really likes having other dogs around. Cheddar is a little mouthy, but that goes with being a puppy. We are working on that behavior but it takes time. She seems to have the Golden personality and just wants to have fun.

Cheddar will probably do best with an active family and one that has another dog to play with. She was an outside dog and we had a few accidents the first few days. She is doing fine now. It doesn't take our pack long to house train a new foster. I should be able to tell more about her personality next time.

We have been dealing with super hot weather the past couple of weeks and we found the best way to keep our dogs cool. Everyone in the pool! We have two wading pools for them but unfortunately, Charlie keeps taking the plug in the larger pool. We are improvising by using pieces of a fat stick that is the right diameter. A stick will absorb the water and seal tight until a dog figures out that the stick might be fun to play with! As you can see Cheddar loves the pool! Cheddar played so much in the pool that she was ready for a nap with Charlie. Since Cheddar is such a high energy girl, we try to find things to keep her busy. Cheddar loves to chase Charlie around the yard. Sometimes they find a large branch and race with it like a team of horses. It is so funny! I will try to get a picture of that.

Cheddar is ready for her forever home. She is not perfect, but a work in progress. She is a gentle girl and loves her furkid brothers and sisters and her human family. Cheddar is well socialized and does not guard toys or food from other dogs or people. She would be an ideal addition to an active family.Cheddar does not have issues with other dogs or cats. If you would be interested in meeting Cheddar, please contact your placement advisor with Ragom.

Whoo Hoo! I thought that I would give my Foster Mom a break and send in my update this time. I attached some pictures so that you could see what a pretty girl I am! I have been having the most fun outside playing with my foster brothers and sisters! We all love to play chase and fetch, but I love to play longer that any of them. I am really good at relaxing as you can tell from my picture. I am pretty much an all around great companion! What more could you ask for? I love people, dogs & cats! I will play whenever you want to or I will chill out on the couch next to you. How great is that? So, why don't you contact your RAGOM placement advisor and let's get together for a play date? I'm ready when you are!

Puppy hugs and kisses,

Better Cheddar
