Chino (Cappucino 09-073)

Profile

Please welcome Cappuccino into the RAGOM family! He came into RAGOM with his brothers Pazataz 09-075 and Taz 09-074. They are Golden mixes who came to us from a shelter. They are approximately 10 weeks old and CUTE! Cappuccino is a light golden color with a white stripe on his forehead, a white tip on his tail, some white on his paws, and the cutest freckles on his nose. Oh...and gorgeous blue eyes. Time will tell if they will stay blue as he grows up...let the adventure begin.

'Chino is doing great. He is such a happy puppy and did wonderful with all the changes. He didn't seem to mind being separated from his brothers (don't tell them that though) and was comfortable at my house from the beginning. There are 3 resident dogs here.....none of which will play with him yet. He will try occasionally but is not bugging them about it and is content to find something to chew on instead (ie books, rugs, baskets).

Cappuccino went to the vet yesterday and was microchipped and checked for an itchy skin infection. The poor boy has scratches all his belly from itching himself so much and so hard. He will sometimes cry while he is itching and I just feel so bad for the little man. I have a medicated shampoo I am going to use on him to try to sooth his skin. Other than that....he is healthy and weighed in at a little over 11 lbs.

He is adjusting to being crated and whines to go outside about every 3 hrs during the nighttime. So far he has kept his crate clean....good boy!

I took him on his first walk yesterday and he did great. He was wagging that tail of his and was behind me or next to me the whole time. As any puppy.....everything is new to him so when a car would drive by he'd freeze.....but with a little encouragement from me he learned it wasn't going to hurt him and we continued on.

He met three kids yesterday ages 6, 8, and 9 yrs old. He loved them and gave lots of kisses. Of course, in the process of jumping up to give kisses he did accidentally scratch one of the kids. So, I am fine with him going to a home with children....as long as everyone is aware that puppies chew, jump, and play bite.

If you would like to meet Cappie....let placement know.

Updates

Hey everyone...Chino here. Guess what? I get to go to my new forever home tomorrow. FM is packing up my things and giving me extra cuddles....she says she is going to really miss me. I'll miss her too but I can't wait to continue on my journey and am excited to live with my new mom, dad, and furbrother! Wow, we are gonna have a good time.

My mange is gone, no more itching for this boy and phew does that feel nice! I've convinced 2 of the 3 resident dogs here to let me lay with them on the dog beds and I sleep all through the night now. I love my walks, giving kisses, and life in general. I'm so grateful RAGOM helped me and my brothers get healthy and find our families!!

Just wanted to let everyone know my update! Yippy!

Little 'Chino is doing wonderful. I took out the towel I had in his crate and he has not had an accident in it for the past 2 nights! His itching continues to get better and he is as adorable as ever.

The best news is that he has found his forever family. He will have a 3 year old RAGOM brother to hang out with, a cabin to enjoy, canoe trips to join, and parents who will love him for the rest of his life! His forever family has a previously scheduled trip coming up so they will adopt him the 2nd week in March. Lucky for me, I get to enjoy being with him for a few more weeks.

Thanks to RAGOM for helping Chi Chi and his brothers find their way to the good life!

Hi everyone! It's Cappuccino here. Foster Mom showed me how to use this computer thingie so I can do a little update on myself.

First of all, I have a little confession. I've actually had a few accidents in my crate but FM just didn't know. See she puts this nice towel in there to make it soft for me....and I figured that was perfect for pottying on since it soaked it up a little. She got a little suspicious when I slept all through the night last night without a potty break so she checked and sure enough...the towel was wet. Oops, guess that isn't a potty pad after all. So, FM said she might have to set her alarm once or twice overnight so she can take me out until I learn how to tell her I need to go out.

I am trying to convince the resident dogs to play with me and slowly am making progress. FM said they are always slow to give their hearts to foster dogs so I don't take it personal. I am good at playing with toys by myself if they don't want to play with me yet.  Speaking of toys...WOW...there are so many more toys in foster land than in the shelter. I really like the long black ones that come out of the walls---those make FM run--guess she calls them electrical cords and says I shouldn't chew on them. Everywhere I look there are things to play with! Yippee!!!  I'm learning which ones are OK for me to chew on and which ones aren't. They ones that end up tasting like Bitter Apple.....those are the ones I'm not supposed to chew on. I'll get it....I'm learning more every day.

The first few days I was here FM and I went for walks and I had a great time. The last 2 days FM tried to take me on a walk and I didn't want to budge. She doesn't know what changed and I don't either....but she says it's okay and we will try again tomorrow.

I don't really cry when I go into the crate......just usually curl up and sleep. That makes FM happy.

Everyone says I am sooooo cute and I have to agree with them. And it's a surprise how big I will be when I am an adult since I'm not telling anyone who my mommy or daddy is.

If you think you are up for making me part of your family, let placement know.

Kisses!

'Chino is doing great and is such a happy boy. The last few nights he has only woken up once to go outside. He is doing well on his crate training and rests comfortably in there on a towel which he keeps clean.

He has learned how to go both up and down stairs (most of the time) and looks pretty proud when he does it. Sometimes when he goes down the stairs he will leap from the 2nd step.....superpuppy! Its so funny and he thinks it is a blast.

Cappuccino is being treated for early mange and right now has a little bit of a "monkey butt" (some fur on his rear end needs to grow back in) so I affectionately call him monkey sometimes. He doesn't mind.........he comes running up for pets and to give me kisses. There is no reason 'Chino can't go to his forever home now as in time his mange will clear up, the itching will finally be gone (he will be so happy), and it will all be part of his history. He is a healthy puppy who is so happy, affectionate, and well adjusted.
